Pitts was initially stopped by HPD officers who were conducting a traffic enforcement operation near Kirby Drive and West Bellfort. The location of the traffic enforcement operation is only a few blocks from the Houston Texans practice facility at Reliant Park. Before officers could issue Pitts a citation, he reportedly drove off in his 2002 BMW. Police chased him for several blocks before he pulled over. He has been charged with evading authorities. The Houston Texans declined to comment on Pitts' arrest.
ugh....NFL is full of a bunch of thugs. Why evade the cops?! To get some distance to toss ur sheet out the window?!
What was he going to get....what? Maybe a $125 tickets or something? Gimme a break. A millionaire is running from a traffic ticket!! Some of these guys are so freaking ignorant it amazes me that they can actually learn a playbook. Damn idiot!
"He probably wanted to go for the Hall of Fame pass instead of going for the 5-yard pass. Sometimes you have to take what the defense gives you and march it down the field." Sometimes, you take what HPD gives you and march it down to Lubbock Street.
One thing i never understood is why the heck people smoke pot in their cars all the time. Just smoke it in your house man, not when you're out in the open.
I follow a much better plan. I've never once in my life been afraid of being arrested for possession.
why would he have stopped the first time if he was trying to hide mar1juana. the story says he was about to get a ticket and drove off, not he was going to be searched and drove. I'm guessing it was a big misudnerstanding.
Sounds like some kinda BS roadblock, tags inspection. This crap is only quasi legal and even more confusing. I went through one and almost did the same thing. They were setup in a u-turn of an overpass. I saw a car stopped and then a cop walked across the lane so I started moving again, then he ran after me, banged on my window to stop me, promptly checked my tags then waived me on. PAPERS PLEASE?? PAPERS?[/russianaccent]
http://www.houstontexans.com/news/Story.asp?story_id=3982 From the sounds of it, it was just a misunderstanding. Pitts thought the officer was letting him go when he really wasn't.
I honestly had that happen to me once. Except they didn't chase me but for like 10th of a mile... and then some rookie, get this, pulled his weapon on me after he blocked my car with his. The judge threw it all out... for hopes I would not sue no doubt. Had I not been 19 and intimidated from the whole thing, I might be mayor of that town right now!
