Inspired by the obvious... This is a thread where you can be an ignoramus, and not be chastised. I don't know what "iPod" means. What's the "i"? More importantly, what's the "pod"? I've heard of podcasts...but I don't know what the hell a pod is.
We so had this thread about a year ago. I don't know how people still don't know how to use spell check when sending emails in a corporate environment.
I can answer that one. Answer: there is no innate meaning to life. However, if you really want some meaning, it can be arbitrarily assigned. By you, or whoever you choose to let make that decision. Of course, this is all totally subjective. That was easy.
Similarly, I don't pay money to read threads about old men almost hooking up with Botox dripping, nipple-skyward, Colorado River crows feet women with tentacles every which way. Captain Morgan, ahoy.
How to play poker – I went to a party a few months ago and after a while, all the guys started playing poker and all the women started playing some goofy pictionary type game. I was forced to play with the women because I don’t know how to play poker. Very emasculating... How to play golf – My fiancée’s whole family plays golf religiously, but I don’t know how. They always go golfing when they come to town, but not me. I’m missing valuable bonding time with my (future) Father in law.
What do you want to know? IMHO, here's the best way to learn golf (in this specific order): learn the basic rules of the game acquire some clubs (don't spend a lot of money yet, though.) A beginner's set from Golfsmith should be fine. Or borrow some from a friend. play one round of golf with a knowledgeable friend who can show you the basics of game play. get online and learn the basics to a good swing go to a driving range and practice your swing. play another round of golf get online again and learn how to improve your swing repeat steps 5 through 7 for many years. When you're ready, buy some better clubs (you'll know when you're ready).
Duuuude - it's not that hard! I have only played 3 times and made it to the final table twice (granted it was Texas Hold 'Em but still..). If I can succeed at it, anyone can! However, a lot can be said about playing at a table where you have inexperienced players or very conservative bidders.
