I would imagine women (or gay dudes I guess) can be turned on by a man's abdomen - there is a reason guys work to get six pack abs right? To say that bellies, legs, and hair have been as sexualized as breasts is preposterous. So if Texas decided to bring back slavery tomorrow, you would be fine with it? Slavery isn't actually wrong, it is only right or wrong based on social norms right? No one who believes in a Christian god could possibly come to the conclusion that there is no absolute right or wrong.
Technically, Texas cannot bring back slavery because federal legislation (The U.S. Constitution) abolished it and enforces the abolishment of it with the 13th Amendment.

The same exact argument could be made by someone from a more conservative cultural upbringing, that the "hips, legs, and thighs" are also 'sexual symbols' and thus should be covered. He just happens to define it from his cultural perspective; you're doing it from yours. You're used to seeing exposed legs/thighs and lots of skin, so you've gotten used to it and it's become 'normal' behavior as far as you're concerned. In many (sub)tropical pacific islander tribal cultures, women go about their daily lives without having their breasts covered. Since I am the arbiter of all things (and not Rocket River, which I will get to shortly) the fact that other cultures have not come around to my way of thinking is meaningless, and in fact just goes one more step toward proving their inferiority . Besides, I don't think cultures requiring the beekeeper like outfit have actually sexualized all parts of a woman, they are more a means to assert the dominance of men. Nope, you are not the final arbiter of right and wrong. But the fact that you would feel something is wrong despite societal norms saying it is fine proves that there are absolute rights and wrongs, or at least disproves your earlier statement that societal norms are determinant in defining morality.

I had heard a great deal over the years about the attitude of the small, white Mexican upper class that basically owns and runs Mexico, but hadn't seen it up close and personal in quite the way this happened. SM, no offense, but going topless is very common among women at the beach in Europe. And on some beaches in Mexico. And all over the beaches in Brazil. And other places that skip my mind at the moment. I find the whole idea of sexual hangups bogus, rediculous, unnecessary, absurd, overblown, backwards, sexist for both sexes, and believe we should be free to show our bodies in settings that lend themselves to showing our bodies, if we want to. Sunning at the park, swimming at the pool, at the beach. I could care less if my kids see it. We were at a topless beach in June and my kids were running around having a great time. Doesn't bother me if women go topless, or bottomless for that matter. Guys too for all I care. That women go topless on some beaches (right here in America too, in case you were wondering) has nothing to do with the point I was making. The double standard that exists is not because we are somehow punishing women by making them wear tops most of the time, it is because guys like to look at boobs.

Yeah no problem. Also, it isn't limited to the white upper Mexican class. I think an openly gay homosexual or even a black person would face significant discrimination in the LOWER middle class. But a lot is changing. The younger people there are a lot more open, tolerant, and aware. With globalization they are exposed to a lot more, and hopefully things keep going that way.
