We are NOT getting Bibby. I believe the Maloofs said they were not going to be dealing with RA because they don't want to help him. Brooks will only get time if one of our PGs goes down. He's still a unproven rookie that would be a huge liability on the defensive end. Not to mention we have 3 other veteran PGs on this team. Hell, you can throw Luther Head in the mix. AB has a LONG career ahead and will get him time to play. Honestly, with our record right now, I don't think we have the luxury to experiment with a rookie point guard.

Ab will get some PT (not much though) from time to time. Bibby will be difficult to get and his pay is too much for his age. What about Kirk Hinrich .. Chicago
is quite bad now and may look forward to rebuild

Perfect, great. Well, at least they'd have Rafe to tutor the healing Livingston instead of the Sammy you have described.

I do it in a NewYorkMinute - because Clips would laugh and then slam dunk the phone. There is zero reason for them to consider this. Maybe if you added Sura and a #1 for Cat they'd listen. Oh, no Sura?

Deals have to make sense in both directions.

Aaron Brooks has 3 minute of PT this year. Granted, we didn't exactly have a great year Luther's rookie season, ans started out horribly, but by Luther's 14th game of his career, he had played in all but 2 and started 4 or 5 of them, including a 28 point, 7 rebound, 3 assist game....

...and look where Luther is now. Man, Brook's blinding speed, seemingly decent shot and solid passing abilities look tempting enough to give him PT despite his flaws (experience, height), but 3 minutes of playing time this year? I don't see how he gets on the court much, if at all, this season, short of trading away some of our "assets" he's competing against.

    you're absolutely right.

i know morey is thinking this way as well. he'll be looking for players who play to the value of their contract.

Oh the irony. In a thread where people are condoning a Mike Bibby trade you're telling me to make sense.

The honeymoon is over in Clipperland. They're 3-7 in their last ten and it's only going to get worse without Brand and Cassell now hurt. Sooner or later i'm sure Cassell is going to want out -- if he doesn't already. He's 38-years-old. If you were him would you really consider playing for a 30-35 win team worth hanging around for?

Luther has some trade value. On paper you have a solid shooter and scorer on his rookie deal that stays healthy and doesn't get hurt. Have you paid attention to the Clippers recently? Brevin Knight can't hit a shot to save his life and they have Dan freaking Dickau in their rotation.

They could do a lot worse than getting two serviceable guards for Cassell. The biggest problem that would scare them off though is Rafer's contract.

    Rafer/Head/Battier for Cassell/Maggette

Basically taking what you got and adding Battier for Maggette.

Granted, Corey has a history of injury issues, but he hasn't averaged less than 16.8 ppg since 02-03. Consistent 3rd scorer...check!

Shane looks as bad as Luther in this system. And as useful as he is defensively, his real strength comes in those few moments a game where he takes a charge or hits a corner three. Over the course of the 30 minutes he plays, though, the other 29 minutes he is a less than average player.

I don´t think the rockets should go off that move, just try to figure out a wat to match out Jason Williams from miami 9 millon contract by sending alston and james there (or include Bonzi) we can have Williams here which contact will end this season and the we have cleared 9 millions to go after calderon which i think the raptors won´t hold too much as the signed TJ Ford for a lot of money.

This way we have a good but not grat PG for the rest of the season and a viable option at going for a better one (or resinging him for less money) next season.

This season Francis, Brooks and Williams can have all the minutes at the PG i think there is no way that they do worse than Alston-James duo.

In Bibby we would have a guy that knows this offense like the back of his hand AND A GIANT EXPIRING CONTRACT in a couple of years. In the meantime,Brooks gets his tutelege plus PT.Besides I see Aaron surprising many once he actually sees the court.

As far as the Maloofs go,well, they might just have to come to grips with their fear and desire.A third team could make this a reality and they would have to just bite the bullet.

Let's play Rafer Alston for the 1st quarter to get Yao and everyone else involved in the offense.

Mike James for the 2nd quarter to shred the opposing team's 2nd unit defense.

Aaron Brooks in the 3rd quarter to give him some experience in a low-leverage portion of the game and surprise the other team out of halftime with his quickness.

Steve Francis in the 4th quarter to provide heart in crunch time and finish the game.

So, who said Bibby is a concoctable deal? Bibby ain't walking through the door, and Sammy for Rafe won't fly. Sam may well become someone else's The Man, but he won't finish his career in The Toy Shop, more the pity. Luther (as a contract offset for LAC? as if) sure falls short of making the deal.

BTW - the Clips have some nice players and a semi-decent coach. But, they prove the problem (particularly) in the West when a stud goes down, the team does, too. They are likely Lottos.

Both our rookies are shooting 100% who says they're not ready. Where did you get that information from?

Today, Rafer's contract is one element that scares most other teams off. I feel that was the case last summer. The reality is that he'll be easier to trade away after the 2008-09 season because a team that gets him then would be taking on an expiring contract.

I for one am relieved that the Maloofs don't want to help out Adelman. Am I alone in this?
