played for less money to come here in Houston because of his love to the yao, rox, and houston.. thats loyalty

changed his game again for adelman after changing his game for jvg.. thats sacrifice

brings energy and hustle whenever he's on the floor.. thats heart

now wonder rafer played better last game.. steve gave rafer competition, inspiration, & sense of urgency.. true leader!

HAHAHAHA....put down the pipe...I'd rather have the kid down the street than the selfish turnover machine that is SF3. Even if he was the leader, he would ditch us for the Super Bowl....

I'm not a "Francis hater", but comon now, he hasn't even played with this core of players other than Yao a few years back. He isn't a leader on THIS team.

I think Francis can be the rugged player Sura was for us. A "leader" in that sense, sure. It's ironic they wear the same number. BUT...the things you mentioned above, let's see:

Money: He's got 30 million from the buyout. He chose Houston b/c his home is here, and his family. Plus, we are/were a contender.

Changing his game: He has no choice if he plans to play basketball in this league anymore. Do we need to go over career since leaving Houston?

Energy & Hustle: I agree with you 100% there.

Rafer: Rafer knows his job is in jeopardy. heck, he thought he was being traded for sure once we got Mike James (before Brooks draft and Francis signing). He knows he has to *try* and play well every night or he's going to the bench. I think he truly wants to do well for the team. I just try and watch his body language following good plays and bad plays. Basically, I think Francis's play is not his worry, it's more knowing that most of the city is calling for his head.

TMac needs to be the leader of this team. Unfortunately, Tmac is kind of soft and doesn't bring it every night.

This guy's name "WhoWantsToSex" is quite creepy, considering most of the people on this forum are MEN.

Dangit, I hate sounding like a TOF, but you think Tracy doesn't at least try and bring it every night? If the game is to be won, he's out there trying to win it. Only time I've seen him give up was the 40 point asswhoopin we took from the Mavs in game 7.

Although, I do feel like Francis could help. Hopefully we get to find out.

Steve brings heart and a little more fire to this team, and we all know the Rockets desperately need it.

Leading with his back on the floor, the way he was at the end of the close LA game to start the year? I hope you guys are right by the end of the year, but it sure ain't true yet...

I dont know what this bring it means that steve brings that tracy doesnt. Do you mean bring it to the hole???? Which Tmac has been doing this year. He has more dunks already than he did last year. By it do you mean scoring, which he is one of the tops in the league. The assists and rebounds are there. The big momentum breaking shots are made. How the heck is Tmac is not the undisputed leader of this team. And all those guys who say steve has has energy and hustle, noone has more on this team than chuck and shane. Athleticism? Snyder. I dont see one thing steve does that is better than anyone on this team.

Edit: Steve probaly is the most vocal, but not when he's not playing. Ya'll need to stop drinking the francis koolaid. This is even more rediculous than the vspan love last year. Let him prove something before ya'll call him the freaking leader of this team.

Francis and Scola are the players who can really help us to beat the tough teams, this team have too many soft guys who are not tough enough to win it all. Scola will come out slowly, he has been demonstrated to be a tough guy, so did Francis.

This is a truly outrageous claim. I'll just say I disagree and leave it at that.
