I see all these people with 500.00 giftcards to Walmart and Home Depot and they are selling them on ebay and Im wondering where they are getting them. I know that someone people get these cards because of returns or whatever.....but there HAS to be a place that they are buying them from at a discount. Does anyone know anything about it?
I sold a $150 Best Buy gift card on ebay not too long ago. However, I received the card as a gift for re-signing my lease at my apartment complex. No secrets here!
Nobody is getting these cards at a discount, they get them from returns or as gifts and they sell them on ebay for cash. I heard of a story that a guy lost his job, used up the limit on his credit card, realized he had 3000 limit on his best buy credit card so he used it to buy gift cards and sell them on ebay just to pay his bills.
A lot of companies give out gift cards (be weird if they hand out straight cash) at events or for extra hard work, or w/e.
They get them as rewards from credit card companies. Usually rich oil men who spend millions for their business.
Some people buy items at places with coupons for 10 to 15%. Return the time for full price and get store credit and use the credit to buy gift cards.
I know someone who used to work in retail and his store gave him a 30% employee discount, giftcards included. $100 gift card for $70.
He realized he had a 4000 dollar limit on his credit cards, so he paid his best buy bill with his credit cards.
Dude, I think he was asking how THOSE people get them to sell them on eBay. I am thinking only the people who get them as rewards are making money off them, not the ones buying the cards themselves to sell.
