Anyone ever use a tree service? I need to have one removed and I have others I'd like pruned and deep root fed.

How much do these type of services cost? The tree I want removed is about 15-20 ft high. I just never grew in properly and need to be taken down.

I've never had a tree completely taken out, but I used one of those services last year or so. I had them take the top off of a real big tree and clean it up. It cost me about $250.00.

I did similiar a year or two back.

I have this HUGE live oak in the front of the house, adn we had them come thru and thin it out and shape it so it could grow in better (and get the big branches off my roof peak)

iirc, the cost was in the couple hundred dollar range (wanna say less than 300) and they did a really nice job of it.

Im not sure how much help I can be since I think the outfit was a east side company, adn I cant remember the name atm. If no one else pops up with some help by the time my wife gets home, Ill see if she remembers.

I've heard The Gardenline guy tout Affordable Tree Service. I've always heard you should make sure they have insurance so if they fall and get hurt they don't sue you.

I have a 20' Oak, about 8" caliper; will run me about $220 to get it cut down and hauled away here in Austin by a lawn guy.

Insurance should also cover any damage caused by falling trees, like to houses or fences if there are any nearby.

I had 2 palm trees cut down and the stumps ground for $550 earlier this year. You should be able to get some free quotes to compare prices.
