I remembers the suns started very bad the year they made the trade. They were like 0-13 and then went on to make playoffs. Without that barkely trade we would have been a mediocre team, and I think the dream didn't wanted sam on the team either.
At the moment I'm rooting for Francis because he is the only one playing for the Rockets but if I had a pick of them of who I would rather want on my team it would be Cassell.
One of my cousins has had Clippers season tickets for 17 years. She sits right behind Cat's parents. I mention this because I have a bet with her: If the Rockets win, she has to display a giant Rockets poster (I'll print it out on the plotter) of a Rockets player POSTERIZING a Clipper. If the Clippers, win, I have to wear a Clippers jersey to a Rockets game. Any thoughts?
I know Sam has the rings and I loved him for it. Sam is one of the best leaders at PG in the NBA in the past 20 years. But this thread is about favorites, and Stevie was my favorite player when he last played significantly for the Rockets. Stevie was fearless. After having some boring teams and letting Hakeem go to Canada, Stevie made me care about the Rockets again.
Sorry didn't vote. Have great love for all three of them. It's almost like comparing your first car out of high school, then that brand new truck, and at last a sports car. Personally loved all three, in thier own unique way.
I love the rockets and hope they win tonight! but sam I am is the man.. he has turn around every franchise he has been too! bucks wolves clippers.. my fav. rocket of all time! forget the phonix situation . Ohh and the barkley trade of giving up sam and horry was the worst trade houston has ever made!
Sad that this poll isn't about who has done more for teams. using your logic, It is impossible for Yao to be anyones favorite Rocket over Robert Horry.
Sam. Nothing beats high-fiving the ref's raised hand after he hit a 3. Cassell was the perfect Rocket.
Sam by far, Mr. Stop and Pop, his staple. He always is good at creating contact, and hitting those little jumpers at the free throw line. His defense wasn't outstanding, but he would get in your face and if his guy beat him to the hole, he took it personally and would make you pay at the other end. I remember all of his little wars he had during the game against whoever might be matched up with him, if you took the bait, you payed the price because he wouldn't stop until you gave up and let someone else score. Oh, yeah, dude yaps on the court like nobody else.
My favorite is Sam.The most successful and efficient one of them all. A Houston Rockets Champion. Next is Cat. He is the least talented of the 3,but I have always liked his chip on the shoulder mentality. Francis is a fighter despite his deficiencies as a point. I like his courage and really loved his athletic ability as a younger player. I hope Steve will play and have a great game. I don't want to see Sam and Cat explode against us. I don't mind if they do well as long as the Rockets win.
you can say that you like Steve better than Sam, fine. But actually thinking Steve was a better Rocket because of all star games? that's the logic on why Steve never took us anywhere.
