Oh, OK. I feel better now.

Good to know it only took them 3 years to figure this out, as opposed to 3 years and a weekend.

    Better late than never.

Also, don't you think our two stars get along very well together? If this was freaking Shaq and Kobe, I'd doubt they do such a thing (though they might be bringing back rings *shrug*).

I am very happy for the fact that our two stars are taking action to vocally call out the team. That's what I want to see more.

Frankly, I couldn't give two ****s whether they get along or not. I'd just like them to win a few meaningful games every now and then.

maybe yao is becoming that vocal leader :D . he needs to do this to the chron too. and if his teammates don't give him the ball enough, he needs to be like shaq sometimes and starts going to his guards and say that.

also, but ******* throw some elbows in the paint. we need him to be the ENFORCER :D

but this is a good sign.

People seem to have a different definition about leading a basketball team.

You can "lead" a team to win by scoring 100 by yourself. In this way, you have to have the rock or demand the rock every possible time...

Or you can "lead" the team by telling/showing them to make the best efforts, find out the best strategy to beat the opponents and manage the team to execute the game plan on the court....

Apparently, Yao is referring to the latter as he wants to be more vocal now...

apparently, the ONLY way people can lead according to most on this board is VOCAL: scream/yell/do what KG/kobe/iverson and growl/scowl all the damn time.

    that's not necessarily leading.

leading is setting a tone for your teammates. come out in games w/ a great deal of energy, continuing to trust your teammates.... and so on.

maybe yao can be like a sam-cassell type of leader: a coach on the floor.

Clearly, theres a subtle implication by YAO that JVG>RA at this point.

Yes, these two need take the action when the team were losing, you either need play very well enough to win some games, or tell the stupid guards to stop make the bad plays beacuse we two are not enough to cover your stupid plays or talk that coach to make some changes (for example, SF3 can not play). These two need act as the real leaders if they want to win something big.

i don't know how yao will be able to lead this team. he isnt even comfortable in this offense. how will he tell players where to go and what to do? you know he wont demand the ball. he just takes what he gets. yao worries too much about making mistakes....hes not confident in his own abilities, so how can the team be confident in him?

Of course you don't. After all, it could have taken them 3 years and 2 weekends to figure things out you know.

Some of yall are really beyond me. Yao didnt speak out, he was soft. And now he says he wants to lead the team, he is stupid or he is not capable of doing because he is soft. The circular-ness of your mind is beyond me.

Yeah, I was wondering how serious was that conversation. You know Tmac already looks sleepy while he is wide awake. You can imagine it's like the wife talks to husband "Honey we gotta lead, we gotta sail through, I am going to talk to the kids ..." "Yeah, yeah, you are always right, love you" zzzz

wanting to lead is very different from
    actually leading the team

until we see him leading/stepping up/being the man during these coming games, he is still soft

Well, if he keeps shying away from responiblity in the 4th while game is on the line, I will agree with you. But if he does take some load off Tmac down the strech, regardless makes or not, you cant say he is not walking the walk.
We shall see. But give our big fella some faith, please.

Each of Shaq and Kobe was dominant in their time - Kobe is still the best player, and Shaq is still the most dominant center when he is not tired. :)
Tmac and Yao aren't far from Kobe and Shaq, but definitely not as good at the other two during their prime.

PLUS, they had Phil Jackson, arguably the best coach EVER in the NBA (he certainly had the most rings).

    Flame on ... ;)

Haha, well, only thing that we can credit Yao and T-Mac as being superior to Shaq and Kobe is their friendliness / chemistry with each other. :D

Because one of them reads like a babelfish translation and the other doesn't. Can you tell me which is which?
