    ... yeeeaaaahhh!"

    random night thread.

been back since last monday from in-patient rehabbing it at a couple of places (was going to start a long ass post about how it got to this point, but said f'it. weird story). ten days at a place called intracare and 20 days at memorial hermann prevention and recovery center. 36 days sober. detox went fine, but didn't know mh parc used the aa step program. turned out to be the best thing for me. just struggling with the "ok... i'm sober... now what?" thing. haven't really craved a drink today until i saw professorjay mention manhattans in that cocktail thread here in the hangout. :D physically feeling the best that i've felt in years. just kinda sucks knowing that i can't have a drink for the rest of my life though.

anyhow, dave2000... hope that javier didn't forget to give you the rox tick for opening night since i wasn't able to make it. won't be back to work until... ummm... i dunno. insurance is still covering outpatient stuff. also wanted to ask you if the voyager is avail for vzw emps yet?

the thread title? stupid, ridiculous, ultra-catchy song that somehow or another makes sense.

    g'nite. :)

i dont think i agree with the AA concept, but it's good that you're sober.... after reading this thread http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=135719 it really seemed that you were headed in this direction.

glad you're feeling the best you have in a long time.

you've missed a TON of drama in the past month... some of the best threads this board has seen.

I still can't & won't understand why people can't just lay off the juice for a bit.

I know that you felt the need to lay off, and that is every person's prerogative.

But from your history from past threads, you are, nor were, by any means, an alcoholic.

Media has dictated this ideal so poorly that anyone these days that wants a drink can, and will, be an alcoholic.

We did this already. It was called "prohibition." People didn't tolerate it then, and they won't now.

Want to see an alcoholic? Go to a true, non-Californian rehab center. Watch the guys who have been drinking a litre a day go through physical withdrawals from being sober.

If you go out and drink, you are a drinker. You are NOT an alcoholic. There is an immense difference.

Good to see you back dude. If you're phone is on, I hope I didn't freak you out with that "STEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVE" message a few days ago. :p (or last night? when was that game? :p)

    As for the voyager...hell no.

I was contemplating opening up my 4th line for it if I needed to, so I could get the phone heh.

    Anyway, catch you later.

What if I kill drifters to get an erection when I am drunk?

Does that make me an alcoholic?

I must've missed your other thread, but I'm glad you're making progress. I've only met you only once this summer at the UH rec and you seemed like a pretty cool guy. I'm the lil azn kid who was pissing and whining about getting banned.

Anyways, good luck and keep it up! Hopefully you'll join us sometime for our CF bball on Saturdays (if the weather permits).

Thanks for the update, OmegaSupreme. I hope detox wasn't too unbearable. Maybe you can make a cool story from the experience.

I wish you the best success on your marathon, and if you ever feel a need to write something about it, you'll have a reader (even if you don't want one).

i completely agree with you. but i think the problem is (taking a guess here people like you and me dont have addictive personalities, or at least long term ones)

where as he may be thinking about drinking all the time and looking forward to it. my hard drinking days are over for the most part.

what i look forward to now is going out in general seeing some friends, flirting with a few girls and taking one home if i want to, and in turn having a few drinks. you never know what is going through someones head.

fatty i have worked in a liquor store before and watched the people kill themselves with the 1/5ths or 1.75 liters of cheap vodka. and maybe he didnt want to get himself to that point for stopping completely.

    Good luck OS,

I am glad you are getting the help you need.

As for alcoholism, and the AA program, that is for another thread.
