I'm looking to get a 20-24" HDTV in the range of $400-500. First off is this even possible? Second what should I be looking out for? Any suggestions, or specs? Is there an HDTV forum to help me find what I'm looking for similar to CF.net specializes in the Rockets?
I'm going to have to plead ignorance on what all the features do. Of the two television sets which is better? http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LNT23...1?ie=UTF8&s=audio-video&qid=1196018650&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000N50RBY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
I bought the Samsung LNT2353H for my daughter and its a really good TV. I don't think you will be disappointed.
The cheaper one is either an older model, has less inputs, or some other minor difference. CNET.com has some magazine styled reviews along with the buying guides you need to learn about TVs. Once you get that down I agree with Deckard. AVSforums are great.
Doctor of Dunk told me about them a couple of years ago. The traffic on that site dwarfs the traffic here, believe it or not!
no kidding. Clutchfans.net has a traffic rank of: 30,397... Avsforum.com has a traffic rank of: 5,566 to put that in perspective, yahoo is 1, google is 2, and youtube is 3. that's according to alexa.com
people can get fanatical about electronics. plus, they're universal. although i find the hang-out here to be as good as it gets, you wouldn't really ever come to this site if you weren't a rockets fan. avs forum is a great review source. at your size/price range, there are definitely some good tv's and some bad tv's, but if i was you, i wouldn't be too concerned about going all out. That is to say, don't find a television that is great except for a minor issue, then talk yourself into a higher priced set. i'd definitely go for a value. as for your price range, you can definitely find that size/price range combo. but you could go even bigger and still be within $400 - $500, or cheaper... http://www.ecost.com/ecost/ecplasma/category/category.aspx?Category=155435620
