That IS torture...Im already dreading having to go to the girlfriends family deal on Thanksgiving because Id rather stay home and play, lol. But, she is okay with my sports habit, so I will be a good guy
My Christmas break is going to be loaded with COD4, Assassins Creed, and Mass Effect...holy **** I cant wait.
There is already a line for the midnight reserve sale of Mass Effect at gamestop... Dammit i can't wait until 9:00 am tomorrow....
Really? Ive talked to so many people about this game and hardly anyone I know has even heard of it. Hope it does well...
9.6 score on Gametrailers. Wow, the 2 sites I check out the most gave the game great scores (IGN = 9.4). I want people to keep talking about this game, it satisfies my thirst until I can get my hands on it.
About ready to go pick up my copy. I've heard it's a great game, but boggy as hell (esp. clipping). Nothing that can't be patched up, so I'm still enthusiastic.
Wonder if you guys will get as hooked onto this game as I have. I stayed up until 1:30 in the morning playing...I am a very tired man at work today. At least we get out at noon and I can play some more
what a great game, I am starting to really like the combat (took a little to get used to) and the story so far is fantastic. About he bugginess that reviewers are mentioning, to me its the same as playing any of the other Bioware xbox games and does not bother me at all. They usually last only a few seconds and definitly not enough to hamper your expierence.
How far did you get over the holiday weekend? I got about 15-20 hours in and I am still impressed with some of the different parts of the game. It makes you think hard about some choices in the game as you don't know how it will effect your game/character later on.
what exactly do you do in this game? i know it consists of building up a character, but what do you fight etc?
Was actually pretty busy over the holiday, but I am at about 20 hours. I know what you mean about some of the choices. I had to answer some questions correctly, or a major party member is killed. So, I had to reload and try again. Very ballsy move by the creators.
I finally got it. The game is great so far. I'm having a little trouble with combat, and I messed up the first locked door I came to, because I didn't understand what I was supposed to do. Sadly I have very limited time to play the game. It will take me a long time to finish.
Mass Effect took priority over the Rockets, my free time, everything! I just beat it for the first time a couple days ago. I think the game is awesome, but I have a couple criticisms. 1. WAY too short. I finished the game in 24 hours and while hadn't done every side quest, had visited every planet. 2. Speaking of said planets...the uncharted worlds suck. Mountains, mountains, and more mountains....and then 3 repetitive bases depending on the "story" for that planet. Only 1 city? Lame as crap. Driving that buggy over mountains was lame. 3. Speaking of buggy, the texture popup was extremely noticeable sometimes. Also some of the loading (NORMANDY ELEVATOR WTF 2 EFFING FLOORS TAKES 45 SECONDS?!?!?!?!) was outrageous. Frame rate issues with some heavy slowdown too. But overall, I loved the game. I've started my second playthrough. I'm always the good guy the first time through...now I can do New Game+ and just be a giant badass.
what!!!?? 24hrs is long as hell in my book. I finished Stranglehold and that took like 5 hrs. I rented Mass Effect, will give it a shot today.
Well, Mass Effect is an RPG. Anything less than 30 hours (especially while doing the vast majority of the sidequests) is rather short. A decent RPG should be somewhere around 50 for a first playthrough while doing alot of sidequests. Now this particular title has some good replay value because of the different choices...but I'm only going to be running through it quicker and quicker. I'll probably finish this second run in 10 hours or so. Some people have already done it in 4 hours. That's pathetic for an RPG. 5 hours for Stranglehold? I think that's absolutely ridiculous. I know you probably rent, but why on earth would one pay 60 bucks for five hours of gameplay?
Also, like 10 hours of my first playthough (maybe more) was wasted on driving around barren mountainous wastelands looking for the same crap over and over and over again.
i did rent stranglehold. it was really fun. i usually hate RPGs. the only kind I like is Marvel Alliance type (action)
