Chucks Ft has got to be the ugliest shot i have ever seen. I dont know who taught him how to shoot them but whoever did needs to be fired. He isnt even balanced when he shoots them. He looks drunk when he shoots them, the way he stumbles. Kinda funny actually, i had a bit of a laugh But seriously, if he shot at 70-75 percent from the line, he would be a much larger asset for us and RA could play him in crunch time, when we need his D and hustle.
They have obviously been tinkering with his form. His shot has always been ugly with that hitch but he looks so uncomfortable right now it leads me to believe somebody thought they could fix his free throws well into the season. Bad idea.
how the hell can you be an nba play, and shoot like that? it's especially sad since he's not a 7-footer. he shot 73% his final year at kentucky. the way he's shooting now i'd be happy if he finished the season at 30%. one free throw he's following forward, the next he's falling back. it's just terrible.
There is no excuse for that silly hitch. Chuck has got to get serious about it, watch some tape and imitate someone else's style. I can't remember seeing anyone violate the lane on their own FT nor have I seen a player fall backwards off-balance after releasing the ball. Chuck is worse than Shaq and is in Ben Wallace territory.
Underhanded free throws anyone? Shaq had too much pride to do it but Chuck seems to be a humble guy. Paging Rick Barry.
Chuck needs to get those free throws fixed. I know it's not for lack of practice, though. By all accounts, he's been working on his free throws in practice a ton. He doesn't attempt a lot of them in real games, so maybe that messes with his confidence.
Hayes used to have a hitch on the top of his hands as attempted a free throw but know the hitch is in his lower body. Can someone please help him, the team has plenty of coaches that should be able to help him.
I think he shoots with that form well in practice, but when it comes time to shooting them in front of other teams (who laugh), and fans, (who might also laugh) he gets nervous causing him to miss. I use to suck at free throws until I watched Miller, and Nash just effortlessly stroke it in a few times. Free throws can be made easily with correct form and some practice.
I don't understand why *somebody* doesn't coach him to completely rework his shot. He's played college and in the NBA for a number of years already. Teaching him how to shoot has never been a priority?? Absolutely pathetic.
The shot he shoots in the game is nothing like the one he practices. For some reason every time he shoots in the game he gets nervous and starts hitching out of control. He shoots it pretty fluidly in practice
it was funny how in the game, his first free throw took like 5 seconds to come out of his hand. his second free throw, he stumbled over the line.
I just thought... If someone could put together a video showing a compilation of him shooting free throws, maybe 20 or so, with appropriate music. Man that would be funny. ANyone wanna do it. I would if i new how to but im hopeless with that sort of thing.
