I went and picked it up. Thanks again for the heads up. Now I just need some advice on some decent games.
No problem. That was such a great deal, I was just giddy. I just got done watching Spider Man 3 on Blu Ray on my 42" 1080p LCD. That was awesome. As for games, the following are supposed to be very good games: Resistance : Fall of Man Haze Call of Duty 4 Ratchet & Clank Future There are other games that are good, but are cross platformed. Whether these are worth buying for PS3 depends on whether you have an XBOX 360 or not.
Yeah, we put in Motorstorm and I was wowed by the entrance. I'm really impressed so far with the PS3's graphics. I'm ready to watch a movie and see how it looks. Unfortunately, I'm running out of HDMI inputs on my TV so it looks like I'm going to have to get a new receiver. I've been drooling over a Denon 3808 so I may reluctantly order it next week. Oh shucks
^Get the Onkyo tx-sr605 thru 805 instead...cheaper and better processing (IMHO)...They are a breeze to set up... Well, I woke my ass up at 3:30 to line up and wait in 30 degree weather at CCity... 32" LCD - $388 (Parents gift) Mio Nav sys. - $100 Wii super mario galaxy - $38 DS lite w/ Zelda - $140 Nip/Tuck Season 1&2 - $15 each Seinfeld Season 1 - $15 At Conns: 30GB Zune (dookie brown) - $99 Ferrari Remote Control Car - $10 At Target: 500GB External HD - $80 Kodak Camera - $89 At Sears: Wet/Dry Vac - $15 At BB: Tom Tom Nav sys - $120 Sansa 2GB MP3 - $35 7" Digital Picture Frames - $50 At Walmart: Various Dvd's - $3 each My first Black Friday and it was ok...Very tired, but I think worth it as I got some good deals...I shopped all weekend and I still have crap to buy for people... I'm keeping the economy going by myself...
Minor note, but COD4 is multiplatform too. And Haze was delayed to 2008 IIRC. Some good games listed though. Here are some more good games based on what I've played/heard/read (all exclusive): MLB '07 The Show - Great baseball sim, the only good one out there too IMO (MLB 2K7 was terrible IMO). Ninja Gaiden Sigma - Hardcore action game. If you've played Ninja Gaiden for the Xbox, it may not be worth it (especially @ $60). But if you haven't played this game, and like this type of genre, definitely give it a shot. Uncharted Drakes Fortune - Great looking game with solid gameplay (part Gears, part Tomb Raider style gameplay). Haven't played the full version yet, but I've seen nothing but positive impressions about the game. Heavenly Sword - Action game, similar to God of War in gameplay (better in some ways, but not close in others IMO). Great presentation and production values (great music, amazing acting, etc.), and a decent story. Game is a bit on the short side though (maybe like GOW1?), so you might want to rent it unless you can get it for much less than $60. Warhawk - Online-only multiplayer game. Similar to Battlefield in a way (big maps with planes, tanks, jeeps, turrets, etc), maybe a little more arcadey. Lots of fun, and you can get it for $40 or less (or for <$60 if you want the bundle that comes with a Bluetooth headset). Lair - Great game for the kids. If they need to finish their homework, tell them that they can either play this game or do their homework. They'll do their homework. Unreal Tournament 3 for the PS3 just went gold IIRC, so you can look forward to that if you don't have it for the PC. Might be a few other games I'm forgetting, although probably only the niche stuff.
hey, what kind of hard drive did you get and is it available online? I've been looking to buy an external HD - 500 GB or greater.
Does this look pretty good? Lenovo 3000 Y410 Notebook PC - Intel Core 2 Duo T5250 1.5GHz, 802.11a/b/g Wireless, 2GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, Dual Layer DVD RW, 14.1" WXGA, Integrated Webcam, Windows Vista Home Premium 600.
From what I've read of the 805 model is that it lacks the built-in HQV video processing that the Denon 3808 or the Onkyo 875 has. They say that video quality suffers due to this.
well with my rebate, my gig stick cost me $5. though newegg is great, bought plenty of stuff from them.
I got a late sleep-in day with my wife. Then I got to spend the whole day with her and the kids without the need of shopping.
Yo, rrj, how did you manage to get all this ****? Did you have other people standing at other stores for you? That's awesome you got stuff at CC and BB!
Yeah...Haze got delayed. That sucks. COD4 is multiplat, but for some reason, it has gotten better reviews on PS3 than on the 360. I prefer games on the 360, mainly because my girlfriend's son plays them on Xbox Live, and that is what his buddies have. COD4 may have to be a PS3 purchase though.
Friend of mine went to Circuit City (Woodlands) to try and get the $299 laptop. She stood in line starting at 2am. They were told vouchers would be given out for the laptop once and that was it. Everyone waited for the doors to open. They then waited in line at the specific spot for the laptop. Turns out, the vouchers had been given out IN THE LINE at around 3am and no one in the line was told even after they got in the store. They had people stand in line at the station for the laptop 30 people deep and didn't tell anyone they only had SEVEN. Stupid.
Speaking of RAM, i bought 2 1gig laptop memory from Fry's. Now i'm selling my 2 512mb for 20 bucks. anyone? ping me, kael@boresam.com
