The Nuggets are giving this guy away. Now it's McDyess AND Lafrentz for Mutombo (realgm). McDyess himself would be enough! Lafrentz is obviously going somewhere so who can we offer? Mobley? Griffin and Taylor? I bet we are talking to the Nuggets as we speak.
The only Rocket player the Rockets should give up are Cato, Williams, and Langhi. The Rockets should go after Lafrentz. I hope you are right that the Rockets are on the phone. I hope it is with anyone. The only teams that would probably trade could be Memphis, Chicago, and Denver. I just want the Rockets to make a move and try to salvage this season.
does anyone think the nuggets might be interested in Mo T? yes, he's injured. but. . . if they're afraid they're not going to get anything in return, might he look like a not-so-bad alternative? basically, for the purposes of this speculation [before I get flamed by nuggets4life and other nuggets' athletic supporters], just consider it as though Mo Taylor were healthy. would Denver possibly be interested in a healthy Mo T. for a disgruntled and almost certainly leaving via free agency Raef?
if McDyess is moving for Mutombo that leaves room for mo at PF. i think we could get Raef. we may have to offer a center to Philli that will mach LaFrentz's contract (coughWillis cough)
i hate when people assume that since raef wants out we should accept ANYTHING cuz its 'better than nothing' we do not want mo taylor. period. not for raef. we would be better off letting raef walk than taking mo. think about it.
just so you know, if you guys wanna have fun with insane rumors, then you have to be consistent. thus, in your fantasy dream of getting raef for garbage, you must now talk with the sixers, as they would now have raef. not us. so go offer mo taylor to the philly faithful and let other fans laugh at your terrible, yet humourous, trade offers.
So exactly which player(s) on the Rox would you accept in a trade for Raef? What would it take to put Raef in a shiny new Rox uniform this afternoon? Name your price my good man...
here, ill take each player from your nba.com roster... brown/collier/langhi/t.morris/torres/williams/willis ; no good - except to match salaries cato/rice/taylor; no thanks! terrible contracts..would rather let raef walk francis; you guys would never moochie; nah...we have 0 need for a pg and you guys b**** about him enough for me to not like him thomas; always liked this member of the nugget-killer-society...but defintely not for raef alone mobley; hes aight, but why would we trade a big man for a gunning sg...we are small enough as is it leaves griff...id trade raef for griff straight up, you guys wont. so if ANYTHING it would be griff + stuff for raef + stuff...if not, honestly give us a reason to then trade with you. you guys have made up 1000 raef trade ideas and none are of much use to us, especially considering we would be trading with a divionsal rival. that is a big factor. or make it a 3 way. you also have draft picks to trade.
Now it's McDyess AND Lafrentz for Mutombo Why would Denver be considering trading two YOUNG good players for one OLD good player, when they need to be building for the future? Of all the players to keep, it seems Lafrentz and McDyess are the two that should stay.
The only expendable commodity we have right now is Kenny Thomas, and to a veteran team maybe Kevin Willis. Mobley is a big piece of this team, and a serious injury on a freshly signed big man who did/does mar1juana (Mo Taylor) doesn't have much trade value. Mobley or Francis could be moved only if CD wants to change the makeup of this team, and only for a franchise type in return (in fantasy world: would you trade Francis+a future pick or KT or something for Lamar Odom and Keyon Dooling?). To get Lafrentz, I could possibly see something like: To DENVER: Mutumbo and KT TO PHILADELPHIA: McDyess and Willis OR Cato TO HOUSTON: Lafrentz and bench guy from Philly (Dalembert, Ruffin, Blount, Alvin Jones or Vonteego Cummings, only if Moochie can be rid from the roster) I'm not sure even how much we'd want Lafrentz, unless we can be sure that Eddie Griffin will be able to put on some serious muscle and play center. Everything I've seen, and heard from Nugzfan, is that Lafrentz has trouble with the bull-type of players (Jahidi White types). If not, might as well take our lumps and be able to snag Yao Ming.
Apparently its not so far fetched since the original rumor was Raef and Dice for Mutombo...in the deal that you are saying "CMON" about, you are getting Mutombo AND Kenny. YOU CMON!
that deal is dead and garbage. we already said no. why do you assume that if one paper prints it, its basically a done deal. it was never anything. i mean i could say my 'sources' are reporting that the rocks want to trade francis for bullard (an ex rock) due to francis' "troubled past"...i mean if thats true the nuggets could offer raef! what a much better deal! you guys should do our deal cuz its way better!
No way philly trades Dike for Raef. It would be hard for the Rockets to get in because we have no one that other teams want besides Cat,Francis and Griffin and the other players have long bogged down contracts. The ideal place for him seems to be in LA, with the clipps, or Boston with Battie or Potepenko or even Cleveland with Mihm and someone else. Id give Rudy props if he can somehow get in the mix and unload a large contract
How about this one NugzFan? We'll also throw in 2 future #1 picks & the Chicago Drew obligation picks. You listed Torres in the group of players that you considered no good. Have you seen this kid play? He's tough on "D", has a sweet shot, & so far, has shown that he has basketball smarts. He's like Abdul-Wahad with serious offensive skills. Walt's contract expires & will allow you guys to be serious players in the FA market this year. You guys would also acquire a $1.1 mill trade exception. Cato still sucks & I'm just trying to dump him on anybody. Houston trades: Kenny Thomas $946,920 to Denver Houston trades: Oscar Torres $332,817 to Denver Houston trades: Walt Williams $5,000,000 to Denver Houston trades: Kelvin Cato $6,048,000 to Denver Houston trades: Eddie Griffin $2,011,080 to Denver TOTAL: $14,338,817 Denver trades: Raef LaFrentz $3,755,142 to Houston Denver trades: Antonio McDyess $11,700,000 to Houston TOTAL: $15,455,142 TRADE ACCEPTED Denver would also receive a trade exception of $1,116,325 with this trade. This would have to be used within one calendar year from the date of this trade. Actually, in the end, you guys might be better off not trading anybody & just firing Issel. Then go out & hire Van Gundy, but keep in mind that NY has him under contract for the next 1 1/2 years & would surely demand some heavy compensation for him.
Well the funny thing about this "wild rumor" is that PHILADELPHIA allegedly backed out of the deal not Denver. Apparently Denver approached them. That's the rumor.
