it's funny how your opinion of JVG gets more extreme each day

JVG wasn't perfect and deserved to be canned, but Adelman has a lot more talent at the point (a LOT more) and is still using the same lineup. Shame on him

And no, I don't want him fired and I am not worried and am not starting ridiculous threads (I don't consider this one of those), but at this point in time, JVG got more out of this team than RA has.

Not saying we didn't need to make a change, just calling it like I see it

The problem is that we played starters too much. We have deep benches. Since we don't use them, what was the reason for us to do all trades in the off-season? The best way to increase efficiency of the team is to decrease the play time of each player to an optimized amount. 30-35 minutes/game would be good for T-Mac and Yao. Also, the starters need to be changed.

It's fun watching reality set in for those that ran Gundy out of town for not playing a 350lb. Bonzi Wells who had Tracy McGrady playing his position, now seeing the great offensive mastermind/player's coach refuse to give an in-shape Steve Francis even a whiff of PT in playing behind the most offensively inept starting guard in all of basketball.

I like the Adelman hiring, and I think he will do great with this team eventually, but the moral of this story is that the grass isn't always as green on the other side as you try to paint it in your mind. Spin it any way you like, Dakota, but Rick's rotation is baffling and indefensible at this point.

I just think he is trying to ease his way in, but I concur that he needs to be playing some other options, I wonder if Morey has the stones to step in and tell him to bench Reefer...errr...Rafer.

What's Adelman doing? How about completely wasting Yao's skills in the low post and causing the team to play no defense?

    Altson 1-6 4 assists 3 points Total.

You need steve right with his high volume of shots. You need a player that is going to put pressure on the defensive from the point guard position.Steve will only take pressure off of Yao and Mcgrady and you can live with his Turnover flaws becasue rafer and james do the same.

Adelman needs to get rafer and hayes out of the lineup ASAP

I don't know how people can keep on saying that Francis sucks compared to Alston. We've seen Francis in one game and he played as well as Alston. He didn't turn the ball over and woud've had more assists if Yao could've hit a few more shots off some beautiful passes he made.

What, Rafter did bad again. NO Way.

He's the man. Didn't he have a good game against Dallas? And we lost.

Wow 6 in a roll. I don't think JVG ever allowed that, well not with TMAC in the games. This is getting a little said.

That said, Scola is Holaing his way into a starting job. He is leading scorer again? Thats is only light of sunshine.

The Rockets lost to the Heat? Man that's getting to the bottom of the barrel there.

It' must be said that one must hit bottom before MAJOR changes are made. I would bet that Rafer's starting days are numbered. At this point, I don't think RA has a choice. It's death to have your point got 1 for 6 and 4 assists.

I did not watch the game on purpose not because I don't like the team but they must earn my respect first. It's said it's now 6 in a row. What's that P word again. Rythms with attic....

Stinking this team up. New offense? No. Defense? 100X worse. At least we had defense to compensate for offense last year. Losing games with more talents than last year? Yes. This look so out of sync and position that it starting to affect players' confidence to perform. At the moment he doesn't look like the right man for this team.

I wonder how many of us fans watched tonights game of our
Rockets V Miami and feel something like I do?
Our Houston Rockets have a pungent smell about them, I almost
said 'stink' but as I as I don't usually use this sort of language,
    I left it out!
The question came across my mind, as I wondered what had
happened to my Rockets, which started the season 6-1, are
the players trying to get rid of the new coaching staff because
with exception of Scola all of them were lousey and played much
    below their potential?
The game was most boring, not even Yao Ming caused me to feel
that I was into the game, infact I thought that Yao couldn't care
because he was playing so poorly against Shaq that the title of most
dominent Center has slipped through his grasp as he looked like he
    had digressed about four seasons!
Tracy McGrady, damaged arm etc. showed by his shot and free
throw shooting that this was not one of his better outings. I am
not sure if he realised this because he was also quite poor at the
    playmaking side of his game.
I was one who lauded praise on Morey at the beginninmg of this
    season
but I now see the CD tradition has not died away, infact it's live and
    well .
The Rockets are carrying a lot of dead weight, which is fairly aged and
non ahletic or even out of shape in the case of the Franchise.
The Rockets starting with the end of the Rudy T period seemed to
have gotten away from developing players, so our rookies must also be included in our dead weight or possibly they were selected to trade for
    more of the same ...
I for one wish we had Rudy Gay and not our intangible player named
Battier and I think CD made a big bluder not having the foresight and consideration of the Rocket's future. I am one who is dead set against
the win now scenario, especially when we do not have a great eye for
talent, or the desire to develop a team through several seasons.
I do not like what I see on the court both in players and in the
method/plan of the game play! I do not like the Coach and his Coaching
staff, they are not inovative enough and under their guidence our team
is going down the tube! What can de done to get things back on it's feet again??
Oh my poor Rockets what has become of them!!!!!!:p

    DaDa -
I don't think Morey would say that. It would probably be something along the lines of Alston having the 2nd highest Plus/Minus of any starter after Chuck Hayes.

    You really have good patience.
So how long do you think that Adelman is going to bring the team to the level of last year? With a supposedly much better roster, the team has been losing miserably. From all we saw, read and heard, he is being clueless of what he is doing.

Almost every time of time out, Adelman first turned to his assistants for advice. I have not seen any other coaches do that as often as he does. Does he prepare for the game, at all?

After the lucky win over Bobcat, Yao told a Chinese reporter that he wished that the team had more and intense practices. The other day, John Barry mentioned that Adelman seldom run drills (set plays) during practice. I think there are at least two reasons that he should have run more drills in practice: This is a team with a lot of new players, and one of the founding piece, Yao Ming is not really fast reactive. Can't Adelman see?

Adelman is known for his offense, but too many times we saw several guys who are clueless in offense played together for extended time, I am talking about three or more from the group of Hayes, Battier, Head, Deke. What the hell was he doing? Do you understand?

When TMac is not on the court, the defense all falls on Yao. The rest of the team often do not know what to do, the results are often rushed shot or turnover. When the team desperately need someone to create for others, Steve Francis is tied to the bench? I know Steve dribble too much, but isn't his dribble penetration much needed when no one can create for offense?

I am just disappointed by Adelman.

Adelman better get his $hit together and start winning some games because it's not looking good for us right now; I know it's really early, but if the playoffs were to start right now, we wouldn't be in the playoffs (yep, we are #9 in the West right now).. we will probably end up making it, to be realistic, but along with the big 4 (Dallas, San Antonio, Phoenix, and Utah), we have the Nuggets, Lakers, Clippers, and Hornets making a push this year, that's not mentioning the Warriors who are capable of putting a run together and going 12-0 at any point of the season.

needless to say, we better start winning, NOW..

My gripe with Adelman right now is after each game he keeps syaing "I thought we played fairly good"... we havem't looked good at all.. even the games we won we won them real ugly.

btw Adelman I thought you were going to play to all our players strengths?? I have yet to see this either.
