watching these rockets makes me appreciate sam cassell, kenny smith, even young steve francis... I was at the miami game tonight and I knew Alston was bad.. But i never thought it was such a huge problem as i did tonight. Seeing it in person, it was horrifying. Watching him play, all i can think about are the days of kenny the jet, sam the man, franchise, and think what could happen if we had those guys now! (we have francis... just doesnt play! i dont get it)

I want our staff to have more of a Toronto raptors oriented mind. They make constant substitutions, using up their ENTIRE bench. They get everyone involved, and the consistant subbing keeps the opposing team on their heels.
We have a TON on talent on our bench just sitting there. Unleash them all Rick, you can keep your 9 man rotation, but give them all a bite at each game.

I want to give Adelman time, but this start really makes me appreciate JVG and the way he taught defense.

Kenny "No Jet" Smith? It's funny how people refer to him with that nickname when he wasn't even called that with the Rockets but when he joined TNT.

These Rockets reminds me of the Oakland Raiders, not the 70's but the pre and post-Gruden era. They find ways to lose games.

Yao and T-mac aren't superstars. They can lead the team to victory if the games are close. If the game is close at the beginning of the 4th quarter, turn off the tv or radio because you'll be sick to the stomach watching the Rocket collapses and gives games away. You don't want to be so pissed that you throw the remote at the tv.

Rick Adelman makes Jeff Van Gundy look like Red Auerbach.

Are there any two "superstars" who are less clutch than Yao and McGrady? They are the ultimate chokers.

Im not gonna blame the players yet. I say throw out the coach immediately if he doesn't change the starting lineup and rotations tomorrow night in Denver. For sure if he doesn't, we will have another LOSS!

I wonder if Morey would consider coming down and coaching? I mean, at least he knows who should be playing, he brought them here to play! How much worse than Rick Inept Adelman could Morey be? How many coaches in this league do you think could lose six games in a row with the players on this team?

If I were to change the coaching staff right now, I would give the job to..hmmmm...Shoot, give it to Calvin Murphy; at least he knows basketball and won't take **** from any of the players. He would call them out and tell Tracy and Yao when they are playing too soft or not like superstars. He would have creative plays that spark the offense and get everyone involved. He analysizes teams great and would exploit their weaknesses and not just play every team the SAME EXACT way as RA does. Maybe JVG could be his number one assist to work on the defensive side of the ball! :D

I will say that when Shaq and Yao went toe to toe in the 3rd quarter, that was entertaining. However, it was frustrating to see how soft Yao was.

Yeah its crazy, this possibly tha most talented rockets squad i've seen in my 9 years as a rockets fans, and i've never been so cluelessly down baout my squad befoer. I mean this was supppose to be tha yar, and yet we're losing and under .500. I mean we're really underachieving rihgt now. I mean i was so high on this team in tha first two weeks, and now i've gone a complete 180. Will it ever just completely come together cuz i'm tired of waiting. I wasn't around for tha two championship season, and have never seen tha rockets get outta tha first round. Its only tha first month of tha season, but tha panic button for me is definitely on.

And it has nothin to do with regular season. I know we can make tha playoffs, but I'm not sure what we can do in tha playoff. I mean, i'm afraid it'll be another gut-wrenching first round exit.

man forget that. i've never been tha tpe of fan to be excited about gettin a highg lottery pick and never will be. I don't care if prime-Jordan is in tha draft. I can help but tot hate hta idea of being a tanker. It jsut b others me. I'll always choose to make hta playoffs over not makin it, even if i know we're not championship contenders.

I think people are jumping on Rafer mostly due to his avg 2/7 chucks behind the arc. What you guys don't realize, is that basketball rules say you HAVE to take that shot when you're open.

I'd like to see him penetrate into the high post and shoot the jumper (something that Richard Hamilton/Jose Calderon likes to do), instead of shooting the 3 at where he gets the ball. That shot is so much more accurate because your defender is coming at you from the side, than running straight at you from the middle. He can also lob it to Yao, find the open man in the corner, or penetrate and lay it off the glass.

I personally like Steve Francis, but unless he gets faster, and I mean guarding TJ Ford/Jason Terry/Tony Parker faster, RA NEEDS to play Rafer just because SF3 is a defensive liability. SF3 won't be that much better when he gets backed down by Baron Davis/Billups/Deron Williams on the post either.

So I think 2 things has to happen.

    1) Rafer needs to make that open 3 pointer. Or just penetrate to the high post.
    2) SF3 needs to get faster (including lateral quickness) for him to start.
    3) Aaron Brooks needs to get time in a smaller lineup. (ie. Wells, Scola, James, Hayes). This guy's a matchup nightmare against any pg's not named Davis/Billups/Williams.

Calvin Murphy as head coach....every game would be fun to watch. I would love to listen to what he says at every timeout. That's entertainment right there itself!

I'm not sure if they are even superstars. In basketball, one superstar can single-handedly lead his team, with below average teammates, to the playoffs, not to mention if they are 2 superstars on the same team.

At minimum, they lead their team deep into the playoffs.

I can say one thing about these Rockets. This team plays tricks with your eyes.
They make you think Brandon Bass is a superstar
... that Shaq is 27 years old again
... that the Heat are championship contenders
... that Memphis is is solid team
... that launching 25 footers is what veteran players do
... that hacking the biggest guy on the court is not a foul

Oh, wait that last one really is true.
