I hate Rafer, you can tell he is a hollow head by the way he talks.
I want to bang him so hard from behind that he cant show up anymore on the court. DAMN.

You probably deserve to go back to being a rookie.

he did have a good game with his fugly tear hook but this got got torched on d by Devin Harris he and James couldn't stop him atleast if he drives foul the dude. I think rafer is not a threat on defense or offense.

For all of you "Trade Rafer" advocates, I've got one idea on how trading him would enable the Rockets to upgrade their starting PG position here in the near term. He would probably need to be part of a package of players to be sent off to a team that is willing to part ways with a PG of their own who would be far better than Rafer.

Such players that Rafer could possibly be packaged with to a team for its PG (one who's an upgrade over Rafer) would be Luther Head, Carl Landry, and/or Steve Novak.

Trading Rafer now straight up either for another team's player (likely a scrub) or future 2nd round draft pick would not improve the Rockets' starting PG position at this time.

Lol, are you implying we can blame this season on Rafer. I think he's been bad (except tonight) but his alternative has been worse (which is sad but if you are going to bring up rafer's track record we should at least acknowledge KG, Bosh and TMac have all wanted James gone in his recent history). Putting that aside, it's obvious Adelman doesn't like Steve and Head can't play pg. We didn't solve our problem. rafer is better suited as a backup pg. James isn't our answer so far and i don't see him improving. he said the right things but he's still the same guy he was in Minny and Toronto. Go on their fan boards and ask about James. We knew Rafer's shooting was a problem so we brought in James. Now we have a backup pg who can't shoot, a ballhog backup who can't shoot and doesn't care to inniate anything but shots for himself, a pg the coach won't play and a guy who isn't a pg (Head) who takes blame when he has to play pg because the other two have been playing bad. Same old problem still.

I think you're implying I'm defending his play. You would be wrong. Sadly WE got lit up by Devin Harris for 22 points I'll outline my points so there's no confusion.

    - Our pg play sucks period. End of story. Rafer isn't the reason we have lost games this year. He is part of a big problem. He has definitely played a part in every loss for the most part (except last night which means I'm giving him one , maybe two games this year where i thought he played well, same as james) but thaqt doesn't excuse anything. We still have no pg as it stands now. Neither is doing their job.

-Our interior defense is hideous. maybe the worst in the league. Guess what, Harris is one of the fastest pgs in the league. We play in the West and are in trouble because with the exception of a few great defensive pgs, (BD, Paul, DWIll is getting there and I'm sure forgot a few) that's a problem we'll have every night. Our big men have to step up and help. They don't. Yao has regressed and TMac and Yao got put on their ass last night yet I watched Harris, Howard and Dirk get and 1's down the stretch with weak fouls. That's pathetic

-People bash Luther but he isn't a PG. Never will be. Our starter and backup have been so ineeffective that we are in the same place as last year. Our problems are the same except we're actually more out of sync then ever.

-Bonzi has dissapeared and can't even make a layup.

-So to summarize, we still need a starting pg and interior defense and a solid 3rd scorer whom we can depend on down the stretch? What did we need again last year? That's my point. Make one player a scapegoat whom people hate if it makes you guys feel better but that's just one of many signifigant problems.

-Hey, I wonder what we're going to do down the stretch of our next close game. TMac take a tough shot, yao the same or through it to a person whom we can't depend on. Pretty sure every team has that scouting report

lol did you watch the game? cause most of those points came after alston got picked off and harris either blew by Yao or the rox were slow to rotate

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but....
Has anyone on the coaching staff (past and present) addressed Rafer and his tear drop layups?? I can't figure out why for the life of me why he's still throwing up bricks at the basket like that. Those tear drop layups are low percentage shots and it's just damn ugly when it goes up. Granted, he made a couple of those last night vs. Dallas but 2 times out of 10 it's going to go in the basket.

I just want to post my name on the list. Rafer hata 4-eva. ;)

Really, I'd be happy if he was off the bench. He'd be fine there. I am just astounded, astonished this Moochie Norris talent gets to start. What's his secret? Is he a hypnotist? It's like he has this special power to make coaches blind.

What I hated most about this game is that we let the Dallas defense dictate who was going to get shots, and more often than not, it was a wide-open Rafer Alston.

Rafer made two mistakes that still stand out in my mind this afternoon.

    1) Fast break attempt and he tries to make a skip pass with some English on it and it ends up in a TO.

    2) The pull up three early in the shot clock that DD referenced earlier.

Gosh, we should be up 2-0 on Dallas at this point!
