I am too tired to see Rox' awful performance again and again, which seriously hurt me...this team is like a black hole, maybe full of talents, but when they could hv strong mentality and play like a "team",like real MEN facing tough defense, dirtiness and hustles?? Where is "easy shots"?where? esp. during last two mins? I was heard coach RA would reduce the burden of Tmac this season, but I still saw a weighty Tmac(even worse than last year!) carrying whole team to move on...you can't always depend on one guy's sudden inspiration to close one game! Yes,this loss is not end of the world, but I worry this nightmare will come again, like a curse!

By the way, I am still pissed off, and can not believe that our team would cave in so easily without a fight.

    Not warriors, just creampuffs.

He wasn't nasty. He did what it took to *win* ... a concept we simply don't understand especially in the last 5 games.

    Why??

They almost caved to the Lakers. They almost caved to the Bobcats. They are horrible down the stretch. They have a loser's mentality.

Even with Francis the Rockets need at least one more player that can bring in the attitude, toughness, spirit, and heart.

I am now in for trading the following players: Bonzi, Luther, Rafer, and Battier but I don't what the Rockets can get for these players?

I put this loss squarely on Yao...... I see everyone talking about RA not adjusting his line up and dallas created mismatches with Yao having to guard a guard (harris), but what ya'll are failing to see is that they had Dirk guarding Yao for the last couple minutes of the game.. Yao got it in the post with Dirk on his back, AND HE PASSED THE BALL OUT!! He HAS to score on Dirk or make him foul him. If not, dallas has the advantage. And that is exactly what happened. Don't blame RA for that, blame Yao for not taking advantage of Dirk. EVERYBODY knows he doesn't play defense. 'THAT' is why we lost this game. No, rafer's fault, no t-mac's fault, no scola's fault, ALL YAO!!! Fortunately it's still early in the season, but whatever is was that clicked last year for that stretch of games, it needs to click in him again. I hope it does soon. HE has got to be a beast down the stretch of games. Biggest guy on the floor, ACT LIKE IT!!!!

why did stackhouse dunk the ball when he could have been a good sport and ran the clock out? Tmac should dunk on stackhouses gorilla nose just like he did with s. bradly

fair? who can guarantee Yao's shot against Dirk could be done? if a guy catching 30points/15rebounds/6blocks still be blamed, what numbers you need him to get? in last 2 mins,Tmac/MJ/Rafer all had shots, their missing should not be blamed?

That maybe would have happened under JVG one time before he would have been in Yao's face. JVG always told Yao to score, score, and score some more. However like you said when guarded by Dirk Yao passed out multiple times, which probably means Adelman wasn't concerned about it. Adelman has Yao thinking too much about the system that when Yao makes a mistake like shooting a jumper when instead he could of gone in the post or passing the ball out to Alston when he has Dirk on his back, he is too content in letting it happen because it is within the system. Quite frankly Adelman is too much of a player's coach to my liking.

Yo! New to the forum. I've been an avid Roxt's fan since '86 and a native houstonian. I can honestly say that this city's sports teams have always found a way to let me down! The exception has been the Houston Rockets, which I have great respect for, starting at the top with Leslie Alexander. Thanks Leslie for the '94/'95 championship and the assembly of one of the greatest teams in NBA History. I don't care what anybody says, I think we would have beat the Bulls too. Olajuwon and the boys split with them on a regular basis when Jordan played anyhow, even before WE were at our best. But that's for another thread. :D

So, after watching year after year, waiting to replicate that success, it has been with much disappointment to watch these Rockets with drafting mistake after drafting mistake and bad coaching. And then, you finally got it right with a coach who had disapline, Jeff Van Gundy! What a disgrace the way we ushered out a true coach for what, Rick Adelman? For all of the criticism JVG received, look what he had to work with! Adelman has so much more and is throwing it away! Why doesn't he try and mix things up? 1/8 of the season is over with and we have made no progress! If fact, we have regressed!

When you play a team like Dallas and Phoenix, YOU MUST GO SMALL. You've got to be fast! WHY are we not seeing Aaron Brooks and/or Steve Francis in these situations.

How about Luis Scola. Why is he not playing more. Chuck Hayes is not the answer! Scola is! Why did you go get him? To develop him, he must play more.

What we should be doing is developing these guys for the playoffs! Do you want to win? You've got to give these guys time! Even if we lose, we will be developing these prospects to make for a better team later! We don't do that with Raefer Alston and Chuck Hayes.

If Adelman doesn't wise up, Morey has to be willing to act! I cannot honestly believe Morey is ok with this line-up. Isn't he a numbers guy? If that is the case, you better start playing guys who have better percentages than Raefer Alston, Luther Head, and Chuck Hayes.

You want guys that can shoot and score? It's BROOKS, NOVAK, and SCOLA!!! NOT ALSTON , HEAD, and HAYES!!! What a disgrace!!!

I hope the excuse is that you have been trying to build trade value by starting Alston and Hayes. At this point, I think you have just lowered their value though.

HERE IS MY POINT- I'D RATHER LOSE NOW WITH BROOKS AND SCOLA THAN SCRAPE BY A WIN WITH ALSTON, HEAD, AND HAYES! AT LEAST THEN, WE WOULD BE DEVELOPING THESE FUTURE STARS!!!!! BESIDES-ISN'T IT OBVIOUS, WE CAN'T WIN IN THE POST SEASON WITH ALSTON, HEAD, AND HAYES!!!!!!!

    What are you doing Adelman???

38-20.... all that needs to be said.

when the going gets tough, this team collapses. it has become a reoccurring theme, and frankly.... i'm starting to put all the blame on our big 2.

For me personally, the most painful thing to watch was our shot selection in the end of the 4th quarter. I mean, Yao rushing and taking an ill-advised shot with 9 seconds left on the shot clock? What about when Tracy settling for a long 2 pointer in the last minute of game play?

That's some of the few things that proves that this team lacks heart. We're the same old Rockets of last season. You know, the team looked like headless chickens when the game was on the line.

As it is our record truly reflects what kind of team we are at the moment.

I wouldnt want to rewatch the 4th qt if you paid me too. But through 3 the Rockets were the better team.

I have one question. Does anyone else think Stackhouse is a total creep, bush-league, classless little punk for that run away dunk at the end?

Let's face it. What playoff team would put Alston, Hayes and Battier in the starting lineup? Battier perhaps, but he far better suited for a sixth man role.

I can't believe Adelman hasn't seen enough. We need to start Steve, Bonzi, T-Mc, Scola and Yao and let them really get accustomed to playing as a unit. Bring James, Battier and Snyder in as relief with Scola and Deke giving Yao some rest. Granted, that is a 9-man rotation, but it won't leave T-Mc and Yao exhausted by the start of the playoffs.

He just ran away from the responsibility at the end. If he is hot, why share ball with others. This showed he was not a superstar quality material and he felt ok to be the same caliber as Rafer/MJ.
This is the same pattern happening in years since he was elevated to assume superstar position in rox. His peak is last nov/dec before injury.

    Aboslutely!
All of these folks here with less than 25 posts calling for Adelman's head need to seriously go get themselves a life. To start calling for the coach's head after 12 games is preposterous - I mean they haven't even started playing the East teams yet and people are bleating like the season's over and done.
