The fact is our superstars are soft when it counts!! And this fact won't change till they get out the first round!! This loss is just a remembrance of the game 7 losses to Dallas and Utah! Its our stars that cost us these games!!

Interestingly, Mavs runs the same play at the end of the game that lead to a 40 point blowout 3 seasons ago, where the defensive rotation ends up with Yao on the point guard, same result, Yao getting beat and picking up fouls.

I would say that we have a long way to go to catch Dallas, Spurs or Suns, The gap has really not close at all. Their strengths are our weaknesses.

    1. Each of them have legit big 3s.
    2. Each of them have excellent PG that have high BB IQ, make great decisions, can penetrate, and can shoot the ball well. (Nash, Harris, Parker)
    3. Great and Mobile Power Fowards (Dirk, Duncan, Marion) that can really shoot
    4. Hard nose defenders that can do other things consistently other than just defend, like shooting the 3 ball (Bowen, Bell, howard)
    5. Great/Deep Bench Players that can truly start on most teams NBA)
    6. Each team has a potential winner for sixth man (Manu, terry, Barbosa)

While Yao is a great big man, he will always have a mobility problem because of his size and because MAC is not explosive any more. We cannot play uptempo because of yao. He is just really a giant and that is not his strength.

We need a scoring 4 with size that can rebound. Scola is undersized and just not strong enough. If francis and James are not our answers at point either, then we should never have fired JVG cause this is the team he put together, and based on his scheme it worked for him. Alderman is not running anything new, neither is he emphasizing defense as well. Head should not be in the rotation. He has no confidence in his game and always plays like the world is on his shoulders. He is not improving.

Time to shake things up!!!! We should see a coaching change and some trades pretty soon.

    This is just not working

I mean I hate to say I'm suprised we blew a 16 point lead, but I'm not. Championship caliber teams don't give in, and they don't get complacement. I never saw the Mavs giving up, I saw a team frustrated by their bad play. They started to play at a high level, and we took the foot off the pedal.

This is become a trend and a very difficult one to accept with the Rockets. I just can't understand why our players can't understand in order to keep a lead just eliminate turnovers and quick shots. Atleast make your possessions count, too many times Dallas was able to get their transition game started on Houston miscues, whether it be the turnover or the quick shot.

Nothing's changed in my mind, I was the one that posted the Look let's be honest thread and I stand by it. The Rocket guard play is not competent enough to win a championship. Obviously we can play with anyone, but losing leads late, blowing close games have just become regular common place with this Houston team.

Until we get a guard that can defend, quaterback the offense properly, i.e. get us into proper sets, control the ball, give proper entry passes into Yao and make a jumper when the game is tight. This team will always be a team with 2 great stars and some talent, but won't win the big prize.

We simply don't defend the perimeter at a high level, and the Dallas guards, i.e. Stackhouse, Terry, and Harris expose us everytime.

    You just defined Steve Francis.

It must be only a matter of a few more games before Francis is starting. Adelman will be pressured into it one way or the other. We win this game if Francis played.

The Mavs went small, and he was trying to counter that. He subbed in James for the wrong guy. He should have taken Yao out.

If you ahead by a couple baskets with a few minutes remaining, you should put a higher priority on defense, not offense. By keeping Yao and replacing Chuck, Adelman chose offense over defense. Not smart, in my view.

i hate it when we HAVE to have a losing streak for changes. if francis does not see time v. the heat, les, morey, the organization, and fans will clamor for it.

morey made all these changes w/ the expectations that the PG position would be upgraded to where it won't be such a glaring weakness. it still is. and now adelman has to do something.

I don't really blame anyone for this game as much as I blame Rick. At the start of the 4th we was up by 14 points, and Rick had Tracy on the bench then Dallas made a big run and he still kept Tracy on the bench. What really made me mad was when he didnt put Tracy in till it was 6 mins left in the game. I really believe that if Tracy played the whole 4th Dallas would have never made that big run.

Rafer had a good game, but that does not change the fact that he should be given less minutes for Francis. Did you see the way he walked up the court when RA told him to let T-Mac run the point? T-Mac had to yell at him to stop walking.

If we lose to Miami on Friday...RA HAS TO MAKE A CHANGE, if he doesn't... I dont know what i'll do

The last two minutes were a turnover by McGrady, a missed layup by Yao, a missed jumper by Yao, a turnover by McGrady, a missed jumper by McGrady.
Thereupon, we can't blame this loss to anyone except our soft stars and maybe our coach for the defensive mismatches in the end! Bottom line is....our stars don't have killer instincts!! We have soft soft stars! They should be playing for the WNBA!! Maybe they can get out the 1st round!

A lot of people on this board are not real rockets fans. I mean you hate the rockets when they lose, but you love them when they win.

The defense in the 4th quarter was unacceptable! I'm never a fan of Adelman. He doesn't know how to play an inside-offense orieted game and his teams were always famous for soft, disjointed and choked diffense in clutch time. His D in transition game is questionable at best. Bringing him in would be a huge mnistake and it would waste Yao's prime time of his career as well. What a mess! In the other hand with current roster, JVG might bring us a true ring contender since this team basically was built by him singlehandedly.

I am beginning to think we are like the new york knicks. we got a bunch of overrated players that don't complement each other. we look good on paper but we can't win during clutch time. Looks like we wouldn't be winning any championships anytime soon.... :( :(

    Devin Harris played extremely nasty.
The way MAV played ball was dirty.
But we r all 2 clean.
    We should be more truculent.
    We don't need gentleman.

I honestly believe no team has ever needed one player as much as the rockets need T-mac and the worst part is we have another superstar.......

You forgot the Suns and Nash?
don't forget TMAC earns about 20 million dollars a year. You can get two star players with that money.

Which is a ringing endorsement for Francis, the team needs attitude...toughness.....spirit...heart.....

Because our two stars Yao and Tmac are NOT warriors.
