    doing mar1juana or driving drunk?
91.76% of all players do mar1juana, so that seems like its not that big of a deal.
Maurice is lookin like an angel next to stevie now. I hope francis takes it like a man and stands up for what he did.

Smoking weed is a judgement call that basically only makes you stoned and maybe kills some brain cells. Driving while drunk is a judgement call that places you, your passengers and the driving public in mortal danger.

I'd have to go with DWI as worse.

    DWI without a doubt.

Someday America will wake up and realize what a mistake we've made regarding the classification of mar1juana as a controlled substance.......maybe. But at no point will driving drunk ever be accepted.

If francis passed two field tests, then how drunk could he have really been?

Both are bad, I would say Driving and smoking pot is equal to DWI.

    I think both are stupid.

I honestly think that we shouldn't jump the gun here. I think that a realistic scenario is that after passing two field tests that he didn't think that he should have to take a breathalizer test. Maybe pride got the best of him. I don't know....I just wanna believe something positive after the way the rest of season is going!! Why couldn't Kelvin Cato get caught doing something stupid so the Rockets could cut him? Oh well just wishful thinking I guess.

I'm not sure how to respond to the question. Drunk Driving puts many lives at danger, including yourself, but on the other hand weed is a slow killer. You all may or may not believe this but excessive weed WILL turn you into a vegetable - vegetable in the sense you can barely function as a person. Case in point, my uncle. He smoked weed for well over 20 years; today, he can't even learn how to play a simple game of hearts. True fact, he visited me recently and I tried to teach him the game, but he kept shaking his head saying he didn't understand. I felt sorry for him, but what could I do. In addition, he's already had a stroke THAT HE DOESN"T REMEMBER HAVING. And he's just in his mid-forties. It is just sad to see him this way. So I will just be undecided. I don't like either.

kbm, while I feel bad for your uncle excessive anything is bad for you. Just as there is responsible and irresponsible drinking, there is responsible and irresponsible pot smoking. Plus, while pot may have contributed or even been the sole cause of his memory troubles, it's impossible to say for sure. There are many people with early-onset dementia that have no history of drug use. So while you may believe that pot is the reason your uncle is so vegatative there is no way to really know that.

And even if pot killed you for sure, pot smokers at least don't put other people into harm. So I would say DWI is clearly worse than smoking pot.

BTW DaDakota, I read the question as smoking pot (not driving with pot) vs DWI. I think driving while drunk or stoned is equally terrible as you also seem to indicate. But do you see simply smoking pot at home as being as bad as DWI?

I have an Uncle who has smoked weed for 40 years, and he is sharp as a tack. He is the guy who always wins Trivial Pursuit at all of the family functions.

Back to the question at hand....

DWI is far worse than smoking weed. Killing yourself is a private matter. Putting other people at risk by driving drunk because you are too incoherent to assess risk is immoral. Having said that, I have no idea if Steve F. is guilty or not, so I will reserve judgement on him.

No Dylan I don't. I think getting stoned at home is just a bit worse then getting drunk at home.

Hmmm . . . interesting. Care to elaborate why?

I've seen many more violent drunks than potheads (the latter of which are usually only dangers to bags of Cheetohs and HoHos). Furthermore, excessive alcohol abuse clinically speaking is much worse for your body and mind that excessive pot use, so I would have said they were equally bad or even that abusing alcohol is worse.

Are your opinions purely based on the legality issue? If so, was alcohol more horrible during the Prohibition era than it is now? I'm not trying to start an argument; I'm just genuinely curious why you consider mar1juana that much worse than alcohol?

Excessive pot smoking is about a bajillion times better for you than excessive drinking. Why pot is illegal truly amazes me.

Like I said in another thread, I've known many pot heads who were amongst the smartest, wisest, and sharpest people I've ever known. Anyone who drinks with the regularity of your everyday (but still responsible; I've known burnouts, too) pot head has a serious problem.

In relation to the question at hand, it is FAR WORSE to drive drunk than it is to get baked and watch Cartoon Network.

After reading many of BahDakota's posts in multiple threads, I have concluded that he is very very ignorant when it comes to drugs, specifically weed...aka he is mainstream America.

I'm not meaning to diss you man...I respectfully disagree with your opinion. Hopefully, one day you will come to understand the truth about mar1juana.
