Its a good thing we getting this tough schedule out the way quick. So after this game we could easy win about 5 to 10 games in a row.

important game because if we beat dallas, then all we are 1-1 with both top teams

this team has been tough for us, mike james bonzi and scola will all need at least 12 pt. tmac has proven effective against mavs and should be extra motivated, I predict:

    Houston 100
    Dallas 91

    McGrady 39 pt 8 a
    Howard 24 pt 6 a

TMAC's back doesnt mean we can win this game, the key to win is our defense
we'll have a chance to win as long as we do well on defense

I hate to be the one that predicts a loss, but I cannot possibly see us winning this game.

Tmac would probably settle for jumpers all game long due to the subconscious fear of reinjuring himself, but his jumpers would be off because his right arm is still not fully well.

Yao would continue his high turnover and bad shooting streak, and his usefulness might be further limited due to his 2 quick fouls in the first 5 minutes of the game.

Rafer would continue to brick his floaters and 3s.

Mike James would try to be the hero and probably build a castle next to Rafer's palace.

Bonzi would continue to miss his layups.

Chunk would foul out by the beginning of the 4th quarter.

Scola would probably be the only bright spot in the team, but the coach might again decide to bench him once he gets hot.

Head would probably be less useful than Rafer.

Battier would probably again miss most of his 3 pointers and foul out before the end of the game.

SF3 would probably be asleep on the floor before the 2nd quarter, and nobody would bother to wake him up.

    So in summary:

    Tmac: 4-20 FG, 12 pts, 5 rebs, 4 assists, 3 TOs, 2 PFs
    Yao: 4-18 FG, 10 pts, 6 rebs, 2 assists, 7 TOs, 5 PFs
    Rafer: 2-9 FG, 6 pts, 2 rebs, 5 assists, 2 TOs, 3 PFs
    Batman: 2-6 FG, 8 pts, 3 rebs, 2 assists, 1 TO, 6 PFs
    Chuck: 3-5 FG, 7 pts, 8 rebs, 1 assist, 2 TOs, 6 PFs
    James: 4-12 FG, 10 pts, 2 rebs, 2 assists, 3 TOs, 2 PFs
    Scola: 6-9 FG, 15 pts, 6 rebs, 2 assists, 3 TOs, 5 PFs
    SF3: zzzzzzzzzzz

    Rox lose: 90-105

Please prove me wrong, please, please, please!!

Well, realistically I don't expect TMAC to be scoring that much, given he had this "strained" elbow. No matter how trivial the injury was, and how quick his current recovery is, there has to be some shadow/concerns in him about his arm that might affect his FG%. I'd rather he defers more of the offense responsibilities to his team mates like Big Yao, Luis Scola, Shane Battier, Mike James, Bonzi Wells or whoever, and focus more on his playmaker role, passing and dishing out assists, instead of jacking up some ill-advised jumpers, wasting Rockets' offensive possessions.

This will be a very tough game to win. And yes, agree Defense will be key.

I wish to be optimistic but I don't remember there has been such a long consecutive slide (4 losses .. going to be 5 soon though hopefully not) last year. This only the happened during our lottery year back then when both TMac and Yao are out. It's demoralizing and someone need to step up big time to put a stop to such slide.

There's not much hope for this game at this point for the Rockets.

1 -- Rafer is no match for either of the Dallas point guards so we are exposed there. We will be torched early and often unless Mike James brings his "A" game and RA unleashes Francis.

2 -- TMc will play better than expected but we need more than just 20 from him, considering the weaknesses from the other positions.

3 -- Shane is too slow to guard Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse or any of the other Maverick guards or small forwards. He is brilliant in a team defense concept but very, very average in one-on-one defense. Also, he is a very reluctant scorer.

4 -- Hayes is a pygmy compared to Dirk Nowitski and this is the most laughable matchup. Despite Hayes' strength and quickness, Dirk can shoot over him with ease from the midcourt line all the way down to the paint.

Scola could ride in like the cavalry, but after two 20-point performances, Dallas will definitely take notice of him. However, he has height and scoring ability and should be the starter. Think, Sco(re)la -- watch your fouls.

5 -- Yao is our only hope. DeSagana Diop and Erick Dampier will be hacking him all night. If he isn't completely frustrated by the start of the fourth quarter, he should take over at that point. Come on Yao!

This game is Rick Adelman's to win or lose! He has to be smart about his starting lineup and his substitutions if we are to have any chance to win. The buck stops with his coaching decisions tonight!

yes judge a guy 11-12 games into the season

like i said, if that's the case, the tmac trade would have a been a bust in the first month of 04-05

i don't care WHAT adelman does right now and what he's trying to do, i only care about how we perform after the all-star break. i'm patient. i judge this coach on the success of the playoffs (which he has had a history of at leasting going deep--maybe not winning the whole thing).

Perhaps it is not so much that Francis gets played as it is that Rafer gets played as little as possible.

Harris, Bass, and Dampier will be playing in this game after MIA from the first matchup between the two.

No more Ju Howard on Yao!

Dampier on Yao would be good as Yao will dominate him
