Mark Stein (ESPN) put up these rankings today: 1. Suns 2. Mavs 3. Spurs 4. Magic 5. Celtics 6. Hornets 7. Lakers 8. Jazz 9. Nuggets 10. Pistons 11. Rockets 12. Cavs
It's a power ranking. It's about how teams are performing at present. The Rockets have lost 4 straight, so of course theur power ranking is low. It's not meant to be a projection of who will win the most regular-season games, the championship, etc.
I'm suprised we didn't drop more. It doesn't matter where we are in the rankings in the middle of the season, what matters is after the season is over. Then let's have the Rockets ranked #1.
of course we were missing tmac who just happens to be #3 in the league in scoring. How would the cavs do w/o lebron? the season just started. we are just getting into rhythm.
Honestly, we shouldn't even be up that high... See, I can understand top 5 spots at the beginning of the year. We were doing well! Using purely power-ranking and not a prediction of who is going to win it all: I can easily count 15 teams that have had a better week than us.
The only ranking that means anything are the STANDINGS People who care about these stupid rankings are female men. They look at Cosmo or Vanity Fair to see where the Rockets are ranking and cry to their hair dressers about it
I think 11 is about right until we prove ourselves further. This will involve getting Steve more involved. Also Scola, who looks like he is hitting his stride. After all we were not ranked from 1 to 3 pre-season based on last year's starting line up.
