i assume rafer not only bring the ball up w/o TOs but also put the ball in the right person as a lot of fans claimed. should he pass the ball to chuck hayes? if he can't, what will rafer will serve? very little purpose, i guess :D .

    Dear Yao,

Please do the following two things for me and other loyal Rocket fans:

    A) Learn how to play through it. If you want to complain to the refs then go ahead. It’s your right and it’s not like every other star doesn’t do it. Just realize that it isn’t going to change anything. The league will allow others to punish the big man. It has always been that way and it will never change. This is not the first time we have seen a great Rocket’s big man get no love from the refs. Hakeem learned how to play through it. Shaq took WAY more abuse than you do on a nightly basis and he learned how to play through it. He also learned how to fight back, which leads to point B.

    B) The league actually allows the big man to get away with quite a bit, as long as he is not PASSIVE. You have been more aggressive in the past two seasons and I don’t see as many BS calls go against you. However, you will always get less respect as long as you continue to let midget guards and others drive the lane and put their nuts in your face like they are porno kings. This is why my father calls you Meow. If you make them pay then they will stop challenging you…hence more respect and less BS calls. Some may call that dirty play but that is just basketball. Go watch the 2006 NBA Finals….there was one play that helped change the scope of the series. Dirk attacked the lane on Shaq and he caught a serious elbow. HE STOPPED ATTACKING THE LANE!!!! People rarely attack Shaq because they know they will pay (believe it or not he is not that great of a defender/shotblocker and he has never been). Start putting these boys on their backs and they will stop coming after you. It really is that simple….

If you do these two things I guarantee you will get less BS calls, our interior defense will improve and your respect level (from the refs and players alike) will dramatically increase.

Lastly, you were top 10 in the league in FTA’s this season prior to your last two games (where you let fronting keep you from getting the rock), and you finished #7 in the league last season (more attempts than any other PF or C in the league). To most outside of Houston, your complaints have no merit.

I wanna see at least 5 opponents getting knocked out of a game from a Yao elbow. Seriousy  And I also wanna see at least 3 flagrant fouls outta Yao. Notice how nobody enters the paint when Mutombo is in. In fact, dudes don't even box out Mutombo. It's Mutombo's rep of knocking fools out. Yao needs to develop such a reputation.

Yao needs to live by this quote:

F*** all who enter the paint!!!

He can start with the following five: Manu Ginobilli, Josh Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Kobe Bryant and Carlos Boozer.

YEAH! Hakeem and Mutombo have both been telling him to play BIG. He needs to take take up more space and kick out his legs on dunks like Shaq. He needs to accidently elbow guys in the head on his turnaround jumpers. Once he gets the reputation of Mutombo or Hakeem. The ticky tacky crap will be let go more often. Hakeem ain't been called for near as much ticky tacks as Yao.

Very well put. If Yao don't play with urgency and be a man, he is over. Cry baby will be the last straw to fallen into forever mediocrity.

I became a Rockets fan because of Yao. And I fully agree with you on what you said. I just don't know if Yao will ever be able to develop that "mean" manner under basket. I am not very optimistic because of his personality. It is possible, however, because he is very smart, and may figure out that it will be the only way he will get the "respect".

If he hasn't been listening to Mutombo's lessons for the past 4 seasons, Yao will never be able to get that respect. I fear that Yao will play even more passive, once Mutombo leaves the Rockets. That will be a slippery slope for Yao, as he gets tackled more and more.

Could you sent a certified mail to Yao about your points? Very well said. Yao needs some calls on himself other than a "T" before he gets respect from the players and refs, I am afraid. :(

I understand Yao's frustration, but he needs to improve on his interior passing when he gets the double team. I've counted many times this season where he misses Chuck open under the basket behind him. Instead, he looks to pass to a guard at the three point line. If he can make that pass quickly, that will keep opposing teams from doubling him with Chuck's defender.

He argues almost every call against him. That's too much. Focus on your game.
