What do you have against Hayes, man? The guy plays hard and plays smart. He's a decent defender and an excellent rebounder. He hustles and has worked on making his lay-ups (although T-Mac has to spoon feed them to him). If nothing else, he's a better 6 fouls than Scola. Hayes has learned somewhat (I do repeat somewhat, however, sometimes he still has bad fouls) to make his fouls count. Scola hasn't, yet. You have Scola starting (which isn't bad, but I'd rather have Hayes on the floor when T-Mac is) and then you have Carl Landry over Hayes?? Carl Landry has potential but hasn't proved anything yet. Hayes has proved to play well and he comes cheap and is a no-maintenence player.
I made a thread abut possibly getting him a few weeks ago. People told me he only wanted to play for detroit but since then ive heard he has been interested in the Cavs and Magic. Good option IMO for 15-18 mpg
well, this guy had been talked over on chinese fan forums and it seemed to us that he is merely a taller vesion of Chuck(not even a richman version) and is much more expensive(he is asking for something like 8-10mil from the CAVs and that's the major reason why he is still not signed). I like his hustle but it seems it's the only thing he can provide(unfortunately we have got Chuck doing this and, doing good), so IMO we should more focus on make Scola adjust to the league faster
I hear CW is asking for starting position and likely 5mill/yr. Familiar to PO system as he is, still too old/subpar defense/lack of athleticism. I do think he might work as a bench.
Hayes>Varejao. Scola>Varejao. Do you want to pay 8 mil a year for a 3rd stringer? Not to mention Hayes and Scola don't earn that much combined.
Here is all the conversation necessary. T-Yao, answer the above question, if you answer yes then explain how you plan to aquire this player within the current cap situation.
Chill out. The guy was asking a valid question, one in which a trade has very little to do with the answer (he's a FA). T-Yao. The answer has been posted. He gives the same as what we already have but wants to be paid like an all-star. We have 4 point guards on the roster and none of them can shoot. We need to focus on that problem.
T-Yao might not know enough about the NBA, but he sure should know that Tracy Mcgrady is not a point forward!
ha..whatever...the only reason i posted this was when i was updating my nba live roster i noticed hes a fa...nvmm
I really wish we would take a look at Jose Calderon... there are talks of him being disgruntled in Toronto (looking to be a starter, and mad at what's happened to Jorge Garbajosa), and he's in the last year of his contract as well. Great vision, strong drive, decent (improving shot), and tons of upside... Oh and no to Varejao, there's a reason he's not in the league right now. He is NOT worth the money he's asking for.
Varejao is holding out for way to much money, we dont have anything to offer him but the vet's minimum and the MLE next year, and he is looking for more than that. I dont think he is worth it, he is a good player but not a 10 million a year player just for his energy and flopping. At this point i'd keep Hayes and Scola for now.
The best bet I believe also to back up YAO. If we want to play small ball, CW as a back up Center at a legit 6'10" is better than Scola at 6'9" and Hayes at 6'5" plus. I dont like the duo of Scola and Hayes playing together in small ball. CW does already know Adelman's system, but if he wants TOO much money as another poster suggested, then Im not with that either. His role on this team could only be as a backup for about 15 minutes or so. But if there is any chance, I think the Rockets should pursue it.
Also Im a no on the AV dude also, but I would do this trade in a heartbeat! (Assuming the numbers worked out of course)
