Give that guy a break. I bet he did not read the article or he could not understand Chinese to know what Big Yao is telling Wang Meng.

Big Yao did not blame his team mates and coach; he was just furious why he had to be the guy that got all those wrong calls that had affected him getting into his grove and rhythm during those 4 games (Grizzlies, LA Lakers, Spurs, Suns) that deprived him and the team a winning chance.

I only wish it is now 19:00pm my time that I could start working on this article to let the posters judge/know what exactly Yao Ming is "whining" about. In fact, as usual, he is self-critiquing and self-blaming himself for not being able to win games that he so desperately wanted to win.

To Yao, make sure your foul is worth the call, sharpen your elbow, dunk with authority and break people some arms, take the matter to youe own hands. We dont mind seeing you tossed out of the game.

Okay....fine and you can read/type Chinese. Good for you.

But I guess you want to tell me: "You are not the only one that can read (understand) Chinese." 你不是唯一的一个会看 (懂 )中文的. Seldom we say 汉语. We always say 中文. Only foreigners will say 汉语.

    Good try.

I disagree with you. I read the entire article and was shocked. There was very little self-critiquing. He gives the token "I played poorly" but then blames his poor play on the refs, on Hayes not having a jumpshot, on the guards not being able to penetrate and pass, and on the fact he isn't getting the ball enough.

Hm.... so he's sucking because his teammates suck, the refs suck, and he's not getting the ball enough. Sounds like a certain 7'1" 350 lb. center who likes to call himself the Diesel. Yao is being Americanized indeed. If he gave this interview to the Houston Chronicle the team would want to rip his head off.

ok lets make a bet, lets put our monikers on the line.

If i am in fact chinese, you have to change your moniker and admit that you are infact biased in your opinions because your such a huge fan of yao.

If by some chance I am not chinese and only a white boy pretending to be chinese, i will get on my knees and suck your balls southpark style.

Me-Ming is what we've all been waiting for. If Yao becomes half of what Shaq is in self-centerness, the future of this Franchise has arrived. I LOVE i-t.

i don't know chinese and i'm not sure if you have the right interpretation, but if that's the case, i'm disappointed in yao.

that's not a good sign right there.

It is ironic that when yao is not voicing against unfair calls, people say he should have done so; when he dose speak out, some people say he should have directed that criticism toward himself first.

And finally I truely believe that biggest YOHs come from China. What a great find.

that's fine and dandy, but if he's blaming it on hayes, the guards, along w/ the refs (i.e. blaming his teammates for his poor play also), that's not going to sit well.

sure the guards are not doing a great job o passing but they all tried to pass it to him but it's tough w/ the fronting defenses. and sure hayes is a liability and thus hayes' man is always leaving him and go to yao, but i mean, that's your teammates. that's like kobe dissing bynum.

again, i'll wait until the translation comes out, but that's not being americanized.

Well.....I was drafting my post correcting your Chinese after I saw your funny wrong-typed Chinese phrase appeared. So I did not see your "OMG dude, I am Chinese" response.

So you're a Chinese, who can't compose or type your Chinese sentence correctly. :D

You guys are getting way too riled up. Calm down.

As for Yao, ive read many of his interviews and it has always struck me that he is very very honest about what he really thinks. In that sense he is indeed very much like Shaq. Unlike Shaq though he isnt totally full of himself.

He must be very frustrated to talk like this but i dont believe its surprising.

I think I can speak on behalf of the board when I say I am against that bet. I don't care if you're Chinese or not. You're an ass and pryuen contributes a lot here.

I'd freaking love it if Yao was free to fight back as you suggested but he's regularly saddled with early foul trouble because he's not called fairly and the team depends on him to stay in the game. Picking up a few more in a losing cause isn't an option.

He's been very patient and he's right to complain if that's what he's doing - I hope it is. As for you, whether you're Chinese or not I seriously question you're a Rockets fan. And if you are one I'm not especially happy to have you on board.

Yao is the opposite of a whiner. And he's been officiated unfairly since he got to the NBA.

i dont care about what he res or complains about. Shaq in his day was so agressive and punished people it was either a foul on him or them. regardless he would dunk on their heads. a young shaq would never let diaw, skinner or amare check him and hold him to 4-17. hell shaq was dropping 28ppg against dream in the finals.

Totally agree. Speak out on press conference or give very hard fouls on court. Learn from Wells. In one play, he was pushed to floor by Diaw but refs didn't call it. In the next play, he intentionally pushed Diaw to floor and refs didn't call that either.

However, the refs seemed giving worse officiating on Yao when T-Mac was out. There was race discrimination for sure.

WOW! Have you been watching the games lately? Yao has been complaining to the refs and he isn't alone. So are the following people on his behalf: Coach, Rafer, T-Mac, and even Dike from the bench. Yao has been getting hit a lot these last few games. Against the Spurs, I thought it wasn't that bad because the refs allowed the physical play by BOTH teams. Against the Suns, it was just downright ridiculous. They allowed the Suns to hug and push Yao while calling hand-checks on the Rockets during inbound plays. Thats not good refereeing.

On the other hand, how about Steve Francis complaining for over 5 minutes during his FIRST game out? Thats called b****ing and not what Yao was doing. He even almost cost us a good defensive play by Shane and Rafer because he was too busy complaining to the ref instead of getting back on D. I'm sure someone here can get a clip from the Suns game.

Thats b****ing, not what Yao is doing! Imagine if we had Kobe or Duncan or Dirk! They b**** on every SINGLE play!
