I have said this before, but the complaints continue. Let me try again. Yes, the refs called the first two-thirds of the 4th quarter as though we were playing in L.A. rather than Houston. Yes, we sometimes get bad calls at the end of a game that cost us the win.

    SO WHAT?

We are not going to win the NBA championship this year. We do not have the frontcourt talent to go all the way. But we could get that talent in the draft if we get to pick high enough.

And none of us wants to tank games to get that high pick. We want to play our hearts out and develop the chemistry and execution of a winning team.

So what's the ideal solution? Play our hearts out and execute well enough to win -- but lose the game anyway, strictly because of bad calls by the referees. Compile a dismal record that does not reflect our true level of talent and performance. Go pick up Kenyon Martin or another frontcourt stud in the lottery, and come back next year to kick butt and take names.

So the next time you see us lose a game in the final minute due to an outrageous ticky-tack call on us, or an outrageous no-call on the other team, bow down in front of your TV set and repeat 3 times to the man with the whistle, "Thank you, Sir, may I have another . . ."

That was good...but i just HATE to loose, Id rather have the 8th seed and make the playoffs, and miss the lotery, than loose over and over to pick up a college player. But I feel ya Will, if we could get a great pick, it would make next year alot brighter, I just cant concieve a loosing season just yet.

    yah i completely agree

Does anyone notice that Kenny Thomas is always called for the most silly and BS things they never give him a call just becuase hes a rookie

and then they call steve francis for palming the ball?!?! every guard in the nba does that

o and the two delay of game techs. excuse me if im wrong but dont u get a warning the first violation!!?!?!

and then shaq went over the back at least 4 times no call then they call a stupid little touch foul for a 3 pt. play, i think there is more contact in the sport of chess than there was there. lol

    Will --

Thank you, Sir, may I have another...

PS. I vote "Go pick up Kenyon Martin or another frontcourt stud in the lottery, and come back next year to kick butt and take names."

We got a delay of game warning in the first half texasalsa.

Kenny Thomas gets called for traveling when he's backing ino the lane all the time - no argument that he travels, but so does everyone else in the league - shaq included, (and hakeem when he steps around his man high-side). Difference is Kenny's a rookie, so he gets called.

Enough of this lottery talk already. IF we finish with a bad enough record, we MIGHT draft someone with potential, who MAY turn out to be a stud. Just getting a lottery pick doesn't gaurantee anything.

Such a proposal could only come from a man who spends his life writing about the behavior of politicians.... [IMG]

    Truly, truly devious.

If I could, I would. Losing, I mean. I cannot stand for the Rocks to lose, much less take it in the A*% with no lubricant, much less dinner or drinks.

But hey, we had two glory years in the 90's. We have to rebuild. There are good things going on in Houston. Good young players. We may only see one or two bad years before we are in the hunt again.

    LOOK AT IT THIS WAY:
    WE COULD BE THE MAVERICKS

    (Rebuilding since 1989)

The ideal situation would be to kick total ass the rest of the season, but miss out on the playoffs by 1/2 a game, get lucky in the lottery, and nab a Top-3 pick, ala Charlotte last year.

Who says we can't be in the playoffs and still get a quality player out of the draft. I see real potential in KT and Cat, and we can trade for frontcourt players. Getting good players and playing in the playoffs need not be mutually exclusive!

Will, You make me sick with your post! You have a losing mentality and real fans dont think that way. Making the playoffs is the only reason why these games are played and dont forget that Will. For you to sit there and write this garbage about being happy about getting bad calls is making bad boil as we speak. What kind of fan are you? Answer that for me. If any of the Rockets were to read I am sure they would be ticked off about it. I have auffered all these years as the Rockets get screwed and screwed by the nba and now I have to read that I should like it, Well F#@k that I dont like it and I am sick of you fair weather fans writing about it. Maybe thats the way you fans think in fagity Washington but in Houston we have a winning attitude and we will make the playoffs

    There are 13 games, right?

I think potential-wise, the Rockets should win like 8 to 10 games. But you know, as you stated Francis3, we sometimes just don't know why they lose. One reason is that they are still too young.

Go! Rockets! We love you no matter you make the playoffs or not. (Of course, it's always good to make it! [IMG])

I have to hope for the Rockets to make the playoffs. Who know's maybe we can get a good player in the middle of the draft. If we make the Playoffs in a low seed say 7 or 8. That means we would be like 14th-16th in the league giving us a draft pick somewhere around the middle of the draft. That is what I would like to see hapen

And I again ask, wasn't he the same guy who started an angry thread entitled, "I'm tired of Steve Francis and his game!*$*#!@"

And he's accusing you of being "fagity"?

I was wondering how Will would fend off such high brow criticism.

It's good to see that like the Rockets, Will can also rise to the level of his competition.
