http://www.nba.com/media/rockets/pressconference11-17-07wmv.wmv Adelman talks a bit about Scola and why he decided to play Steve in this game.
If he wanted scoring he should have given Stevie the Green light to go to the hole. I think Stevie was tentative tonight not wanting to make mistakes and play flawless basketball to earn himself more playing time.
At this time, it appears that RA still feels Alston runs the show better than Francis. When you put Francis into the rotation, you have to take someone else out. He was pleased with how Steve stuck with it and waited for his time and was ready. Though, the way Francis played under control and didnt turn the ball over or make mental mistakes is certainly a plus since that is the big negative that you get with him over Rafer.
I disagree. I think it really has to do with matchup and tempo. If Adelman decides to go small again, he might put Steve back in the lineup. What really irked me was how RA said by putting one guy in, you had to take another guy out of the lineup. See, I understand where he's coming from. But what I don't understand is this. Isn't it also true that you always play the guy that can help you win games? Rafer and James has been stinking it up the last few games. Then on the bench, you have a former All-Star who's aching just to get some playing time. And from the looks of tonight's game, he wasn't all that bad. A little rusty on the jump shots but doing okay. Why bench a guy if he could be clearly better than the first options???
Steve need PT to knock off his rust. I agree rafer is a starter but when has an off game, RA need rest him.
If Adelman honestly thinks Rafer is a better player than Steve, he is either on crack or a certifiable idiot.
Rested for a while 10-15 min, not the whole game. This is useful because opponent change game plan to counter Steve play and Rafer can calm himself down to shoot better later.
You know, a bunch of people throw around the LOL when they actually did NOT laugh out loud. Kind of like, hey that was neat or a bit funny. However, let me just say I had a sincere LOL moment on that pic..... great post.
Huh? I also think that Steve might actually be getting some more looks in the next couple of games even when T-Mac comes back. He said it was going to be a tough decision and "we'll go from here". Though his stance is significantly different from "nothing is set in stone" with his whole concern about taking Rafer/Head/James out.
