Maybe you also think that those thousands of fans in the stands chanting "WE WANT STEVE" are so myopic and misinformed as well?

At least they paid for their tickets to be so! :D I would guess that 80% or higher of the basketball fans of this city wants Rafer benched whether Steve plays or not. Rafer SUCKS! PERIOD!

Adelman probably doesn't hate Steve, RA just has an EGO to big for his size. That's why he talks so "mellow" all the time, probably to try to mask his HUGE EGO. He will not play Steve, whether he is better or not, for as long as he possibly can because he doesn't want to let the fans dictate to him what he will do with his lineup. Again..that's call EGOTISTICAL! If he didn't care what the fans thought, he would have already tried to see if Steve can at least give him some help off the bench; but then he is afraid that he could do well and have the fans to prove that his coaching decision was a bad one; thus his EGO would be destroyed and hurt.

First it was Van Gundy...he was bringing Stevie down.

Then it was the Magic...they were holding him back.

Then it was the Knicks....they were holding Stevie down

Now it's Rick...he's holding Stevie down.

    Maybe it's just Stevie.

Maybe you are right, maybe you are wrong...But who the heck is holding Rafer back? Who is making him suck so much? Who is making his shooting percentage continue to get worse EVERY YEAR?

The point is we DON'T truly know yet about Steve, so we are holding out for hope and asking for him to get a chance. On the other hand, RAFER HAS PROVEN OVER THE LAST TWO SEASONS AND THE BEGINNING OF THIS ONE THAT BEYOND ANY POSSIBLE DOUBT, HE SUCK, SUCKS, SUCKS!!!!!! :(

Okay, you don't like Steve, fine, play Aaron Brooks, bring in someone from the D-league, do whatever you like, BUT PLEASE, PLEASE GET RAFER FREAKING ALSTON OFF THIS TEAM OR PERMANENTLY ON THE BENCH!

Actually, the Magic never held him back. In fact, he had one of his best seasons in that first year with the Magic. Everything went down hill when Cuttino left. The Magic didn't hold him back, they broke his heart. :D

This thread is such a joke. Adelman got along with Rasheed, Bonzi, and Artest, and also led to Portland Jailblazers to the ECF. This whole Adelman has a fued against Francis thing is the biggest bull i've ever heard. Adelman has fueds with NOONE. Francis simply isn't playing better than our other guards.

Adelman never coached Rasheed or the "Jailblazers". He left Portland after the 93/94 season. He did coach Sprewell a couple seasons, though.

the reason steven frenchfries isnt playing is because the orlando magic broke his heart. you cant win with a broken heart.

Another possible title of this thread is "How many of you are nutty conspiracy theorists?"

Let me ask you this: If Rick Adelman is only keeping Francis on the bench because he doesn't like him, WHY DOESN'T HE LIKE HIM?!?! Coaches tend to like players who show up in shape, do as asked and compete to their fullest ability.

So what did Francis do? Or is Adelman so absolutely unprofessional that he decides to hate his players at random and then puts his job at risk by benching that/those players for absolutely no reason?

How long do you guys think Les and Morey would put up with that?

Not very long and I expect that Les and Morey will have a nice sit down with Rick in the not too distant future.

Why does Rick need to let the fans make an informed decision?? The fans dont run the team. And despite the steve situation, most fans are pleased with the product. And certainly most of those that have concerns are not going to rush to any conclusions after 10 games.

As for the overweight/outtashape thing It was said that he showed up to camp outtashape. Yes, that was a month and a half ago. But it put steve behind the 8 ball, and he has not yet(as evidenced by his lack of PT) been able to work his way into the lineup. I think his problem now is NOT weight related, but rather how he has been performing in practice. If his decision making is not on par with what Adelman wants and expects from the point guard, he will not get into the game.

Truth be told, its more likely that Steve has a hidden injury than Rick just dont like him. Both are farfetched and have no basis in reality.

The fans bought the arena. The fans pay Rick Adelman's salary. Maybe not directly, but they do. You can bet that Morey has noticed what his paying customers are demanding. A lot of them bought tickets to see Francis play. If you don't deliver what you advertise, don't expect to sell much more.
