ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Spurs 11/16/2007

Although Yao redeemed himself a bit later in this game, a couple major drawbacks in his low post game were still annoying me very much.

1. His protection of the ball is poor. Okur has shown to the entire league last playoff series how easily one could trip the ball from Yao even though you guarded behind the big fella. Seriously, Yao should throw some elbows out there. When the ball is tripped away so easily from you, your opponent's confidence increases and you also discourage the guy who passed you the ball.

2. His follow up layups (put back???) after an offensive rebound. The block by Duncan late in the game was legitimate. Great play by Duncan but if Yao would pump fake first, it could easily become a foul and probably an and-1 play. I notice Yao seldom pump fake when surrounded by big guys under the basket. He forced a layup (instead of a dunk) most of the time and that often turned into another block shot in his opponent's stat sheet.

I still don't think RA will play him.

RA should make a plan to pass the ball to Yao when the opponents run the frontinig

Can the Rockets Rowdies or SOMEBODY PLEASE start a RAFER SUCKS chant at the next game. We can do this every game and make it VERY UNCOMFORTABLE for him. Maybe we can hurt his feelings to the point of tears. And HE will demand a trade out of here. Because apparently as long as he's here he WILL be the starter no matter who we bring in... We could bring in MAGIC, John Stockton, Jason AND Steve Nash and somehow Rafer would still start and log ALL of the minutes. I HATE THAT GUY!!! Ship his a$$ out of town. Whose down with starting the RAFER SUX!!! chants at games... We will call our movement the "Trail of Teardrops"

 

Look at Steve's calves in those pictures. No wonder dude can fly. Oh, and how does Steve look fat in those pictures?

Tony Parker would have beat Steve off the dribble at will. Remember what Kyle Lowry did to him in the preseason? That's your future with Steve.

I noticed this too, but there is a reason. If yao fake shoot under the bascket, he will get hacked. And sometimes, he won't get the call.

I respect you for beeing probably older than me Howver that doesn't necessarily make you correct. I think what you are talking about is a convention and is effective. however, we should change and adjust to what is happening on court. Due to the fact that we already know from previous game against this Spurs team, Yao is the best defender against Duncan. You may get into foul troubles and may not, mostly depending on the refs, but if you don't try, you can only expect Duncan to abuse our undersized PF and get enough points to help his team win.

 

That's just sad and you're a pathetic disgrace.
