Francis was traded because he was the KING of Dribblemania! As the Rockets Point Guard his main playmaking ability was setting himself up to shoot the ball. With this type of Point Guard Yao Ming was not gettting a fair shake!
Francis spoke and everything was 'lovey dovey' but it all went in one ear and out the other, he did just as he wasnted to do! Plain and simple.
Although JVG says the opposite he actually drove JVG crazy. :p

I wondered whether you had seen how SF3 played in that season he got traded away by JVG?

Did you realize that it was not things went in one ear and out of the other? SF3 tried to remold himslf, made sacrifices to his personal stats to fit into the role of a shoot-less-pass-more point guard under JVG's tenure.

Just as Yao Ming said, if he could do it then, he can do it now, given skills wise, defense wise, clutchness wise, leadership wise, he is better than the pass-but-can't-score Rafer Alston and the shoot-shoot-shoot-and-not-pass Mike James.

JVG is a great commentator, just a terrible coach.

So how was JVG's takes on the Rockets during the second half of last night's game? I had to go pray when T-Mac got hurt so I missed what he said....

I like RA and all, but I really miss JVG. I guess I'm so used to seeing him on the sidelines that seeing him as a commentator makes me sad.

What is he suppose to do? Badmouth Francis and say it was a complete steal and Francis is nowhere near as good as T-mac?

Btw, Yao set up Rafer So perfectly last night for the last shot. It was pretty amazing, and would have been the play of the night most definitely.

So far RA hasn't impressed me very much as a coach, but i think once the team picks up his offense, he would look ALOT better. And yes, I really miss JVG, also.

I am only remembering everything that went on as I saw every game.
Francis said he would do this and do that but when it came down to doing it, he did just what he wanted. Yao Ming sounds like he is thinking back to every good thing that Francis said but not remembering what went down in the games.
If you remember I was posting almost every day, on this very same forum, about what Francis should be doing and what in effect he wasn't doing.I was the one who lead the fans call to get rid of Francis so that Yao could develop his game. :p
However !!! I am all for Francis being given a chance to show what he can do.
Even in his present condition he must be better than Rafer/ Alston/James/Head.
So putting aside all that went down during his first stint with our team, he deserves , as a professional player a chance to play.

Then you either have a very bad memory or you are extremely biased. I remember Steve sacrificing some of his game, trying to fit into JVG's system. Maybe he didn't run the system perfectly, but he tried. You make it sound like he just didn't care and did whatever he felt like. Which was not the case.

I am betting that Yao has already gone to Adleman to make his case for playing Francis. We will never hear about it but that's just the kind of guy that Yao is and he always backs up his boy Stevie since they are such good friends.

My friend, welcome to the HDTV age. Makeup artists are getting more and more careful with their work nowadays.

SF3 was tradeed because Tmac asked to come to Houston, which is the main reason.
