I never wanted him out in the first place. Rick might want to try to develop a relationship with him and get some informal help especially with some of the defensive stuff, because the last couple games the team has been terrible defensively against teams that are not powerhouses in the NBA.

"I thought last year we were a top-five team in the league," Van Gundy said. "Unfortunately, the other four were in the West. I think this year, they're a top-three, -four team. Could they be the top seed in the West? Absolutely. I could see them winning 57-58 games. A lot of teams in the West are really bad. If you play them 24 times, you could win 20. That puts you at a good starting point."

Ironically enough, JVG is what the Rockets are missing...a vocal leader who wouldn't stand for unclear roles on his team.
