http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3111241 HOUSTON -- Rockets guard Tracy McGrady left Houston's game Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers because of a strained right elbow. The 6-foot-8 McGrady, taken to a hospital for tests, was hurt trying to swat the ball away from Luke Walton in the final minute of the second quarter. McGrady's arm hit Walton's arm and snapped backward. McGrady was fouled by Kwame Brown on the play and shot two free throws left-handed, making the first and badly missing the second. McGrady was the NBA's leading scorer coming into the game, averaging 29 points. He has been plagued by injuries the last two seasons, mostly to his back. He missed 11 games last season, seven because of back spasms. Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press
Damn....I hope T-Mac isn't seriously injured...because our team is too good to go lotto.... Damn how cursed are we? Is it because we traded Dream? Hell..what....
The news could still be very bad... no one knows yet. Worrell is just going with the official "strain" statement, but the MRI at the hospital will tell us. Not out of the woods by any stretch...
I hate to say this but it IS Tmac we are talking about. His threshold for pain appears to be very, very over the course of his career. I wouldn't be surprised if he is back for the next game. If it was Hayes or Shane grimacing like that then I would be thinking something much, much more serious happened.
There are few things I hate more in sports than devastating injuries. It is almost worse than a heartbreaking loss in game 7. I'm so deflated when something like that happens. I really hope TMac just has a strain. If not, I'm going to be depressed for a few days.
I'm not about to make any assumptions...but when comparing this to Wade last season. Wade fell to the ground and didn't get up, had his arm wrapped immediately and needed help walking to the locker room because he was in so much pain. Tracy was at least able to stay on the court...granted he didn't shoot with that arm...but he still stayed on to shoot the free throws before leaving...on his own power. It might not mean much...but at least at first glance, his injury doesn't seem as serious. But just the fact that he's getting an MRI is scary. Hopefully it's good news. Houston teams have been cursed with too many injuries the past few years.
Any more update? We can't afford to lose the best player on the team again for an extended period of time.
I say we should have the doctors secretly bio-engineer his arm and not only repair it, but Tmac will now have a super arm that can exact revenge on Luke Walton in painful way!
