Seriously, ESPN? San Antonio is on the same pace as the Bulls. What about them? I know I should come to expect this from them, but this is just plain silly.
You've got to remember that the Celtics will mostly be playing Eastern teams, and will beat almost all of them. They'll also beat most of the Western teams. The only teams that can beat Boston are the top Western teams (San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Utah, Phoenix.. maybe Lakers). But the Celtics don't play those teams very much. I believe they'll get 60+ games and might actually push the 70 game threshold.
The Celtics winning is GREAT for the league. Better right now, IMO, than even the Lakers. This team will be POPULAR; the Spurs have been built up as a Villain - a near dynasty for the Good Guys in Green to dethrone! The NBA could actually market a finals for a change - and a climax could build toward it. Won't be long (maybe 20 games in), and TD will have relinquished his PF GOAT to KG. If it's not SA; it still could be Phoenix (will draw regardless), The Rockets (McGrady and Yao are a draw), or the Mavericks (Not so much - but the Celtics will still pull great ratings - and the Megaplex ALONE fills coffers). Great series could be had this coming playoffs in the West; and Celtics/Detroit could be a good one in the East as well (with some historical significance). They're going to hype it; it IS going to be ridiculous - add the storyline about the Sox AND the Patriots, and there will be questions about the water in Boston. This has media frenzy written ALL over it; this is only the beginning.
The east coast masturbate-a-thon is seriously jeapordizing my interest in the NBA (outside of the rox).
I just can't believe people are flippin out about the Celtics being 6-0. They have played nothing but trash and only 1 Western Conference team and that was the Nuggets. As stated before, they cannot beat the top tier teams in this league, they aren't deep enough to contend. It is probable that they make it to the finals but they will not beat whoever they face.
Steve Francis not being on the all star ballot but JARRETT MOTHERFREAKING JACK IS... now thats ridiculous
I would call Jarret Jack an all-star compared to ANTOINE WALKER!!! has that man even played this season!!?? how the HELL is he on the ballot, especially on the guards!!! ANTOINE WALKER!!!!!!!!!!! CMON!!!!!!
Actually I think you're over-generalizing east coast.. It's just Boston (and New England). Not Philly, DC, or New York. They've got their own teams and for the most part don't care too much for Boston.
While not on topic... Francis hasn't played a minute and is currently inactive. Jack plays on average 26 minutes per game and scores 11 ppg. How is that ridiculous again?
Sorry for contributing to the slight derailment, but yeah I agree, Jack is fine I guess, but Antoine Walker.. jeeeeez!
