This is seriously a rough opening month to be a team with a new coach, new system, and some new faces. The Rockets have started out hot, winning 6 of 8 games, including victories against the Jazz and Spurs. Not to mention having to play the Spurs twice, the Mavs twice, and the Suns twice.

    Games left:

    11/14: vs. LAL
    11/16: at SA
    11/17: vs. Pho

    11/21: vs. Dal
    11/23: at Mia
    11/24: vs. Den
    11/26: at LAC
    11/28: at Pho
    11/29: at GS

I love how the back end of the rest of our back-to-backs are against teams that love to run, get on the break, and push the ball. Not to mention a ridiculously tough back to back after the Lakers and a pretty tough one to close out the month.

Makes losing this game to Memphis all the more painful. It's OK though, the Rockets will make up for it.

I don't want to assign a W/L to every game and all, and it's usually not good to map out the future like that, but what do you guys think would be acceptable as a sign of being a good team from the Rockets considering the strength of schedule and number of tough back-to-backs? We have 9 more games for 17 total with a record of 6-2 right now.

I personally would love to see the Rockets come out with a 12-5 record, but 10-7 is acceptable all things considered, though it doesn't sound too pretty. What about you guys?

All I can say is, wake me up, when November ends. ;)

I agree. I think the Rockets will really get rollin once this tough first month is out of the way.

I would prefer Doc.Ric to do his experiments on mediocre teams.....don't want to lose anyway, even it is regular season but I expect a higher seed this year.

I care less about the record and more about how the team gel. It's hard to take a loss to Memphis like this. But looking at the overall picture... it hardly matters. Dallas lost to Atlanta and Portland, for Christ sakes.

We still have so many unresolved matters, like PG play(good lord how long has this problem been around?), Scola eventual development, and our ability to run Adelman's offense. These, assuming health isn't an issue, determines how far we go when it REALLY matters.

I think 12-5 is very do-able, maybe even better.
    And anyway, it's November.

Methinks a trade scenario or two may surface again during this month ye call "November."

I think we split with the Suns if the Yao or T-Mac have an off night, other than that, we win it ALL!

But on a serious not, the only loss I can't stand is losing to the freakin' Mavs! I would rather lose to the Lakers and take all the jabs from my dad, cousins and friends then lose to the damn Mavs! Can't stand how much of a p*ssy Dirk is and how Terry thinks he is the second-coming of MJ or Kobe or something!

Totally co-sign on that. A loss to the Mavs is like losing 10 in a row.

i'd rather go 1-8 in the next 9 games and beat the mavs than go 8-1 and lose to the mavs.

I'd be content going 11-6 over that stretch.

    W 11/14: vs. LAL
    L 11/16: at SA
    W 11/17: vs. Pho
    L 11/21: vs. Dal
    W 11/23: at Mia
    W 11/24: vs. Den
    L 11/26: at LAC
    L 11/28: at Pho
    W 11/29: at GS

I was thinking the same. I think our team will be 5-4 during this stretch at the WORST.

I still hope we can beat Dallas this time, really.

And it would be great to win against SAS twice in one month
