Okay, so my wife has been a bit down lately for a variety of reasons. Her birthday is this Saturday and it is my responsibility to get something planned for her enjoyment. She has expressed the desire for something very relaxing and laid back. I am not exactly a man-about-town in Houston, so I don't know any hot spots or places where something like that could be done. I'd prefer to stay away from any spas as that is not exactly something we could do together (unless there are things to do together at those places...I don't know). Anyone have any suggestions, smart-ass or otherwise?
My wife wanted the same thing, so I threw a suprise party for her @ her favorite restaurant. Wasn't "laid back" exactly, but the place was had a nice, relaxing atmosphere, great food and she enjoyed the company of her friends and family. What part of town are you in?
go with her to the spa, get a rub down, a facial, pedicure and manicure, and the go home and reap the rewards,
That's actually a good idea. Take her to Rainbow Lodge. Very romantic setting where you can get there early, enjoy some wine outside in a gazebo, and then take her in for dinner when your reservation time arrives.
Check out this spa: http://www.venicedayspa.com/SpaPackages.asp Get a massage together in the same room and then jump into a hot tub to hmmm...uhh...do your thang. They can arrange a limo service, etc. Its definitely worth it.
Spa treatment during the day. Nice dinner at night for two. Rainbow Lodge is good (good call Fatty)...there are also good French bistros around town (Cafe Rabelais, Bistro Le Cep) that my lady just goes ga-ga over.
Get her a pearl necklace http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Cat...1-p+1-c+-r+-x+-n+12-ri+-ni+1-t+pearl+necklace All women love Tiffany n co.
Damn, I need to pay more attention to the BBS. I didn't know you guys were playing. Is this a regular game? Also, thanks for the suggestions everyone. Codell, I'm in the east side of town, Deer Park/Pasadena area. I may try the day spa thing and take her out to dinner somewhere nice. Or I might try the surprise dinner out somewhere with her friends. I'll have to call some of them and see what they are doing.
Not to hijack your thread RL, but I didn't want to start a new one. My wife's 30th is this January, need some ideas on what to do for her. We have a 2 month old at home so I have to factor that into plans as well.
Unless you can get a (trust-worthy) baby sitter or parents/in-laws that can take care of your baby, I don't think there's much you can do really.. unless you want the ole' dinner/movie combo or something.
