I know we take it for granted how good he is, but remember how bad he was lookin at the beginning of last yr, talkin bout retiring after his contract ended. He already has as many 40 pt games as he did last yr ! 29 ppg, on 47% shooting with like 6 dimes and 6 rebs! He 's driving, he has explosiveness. I loved that play were he broke down a bunch of defenders and scored with his left hand to tie the game at the end!!! One good thing I definitely took out of tonights game was seeing the Old Tmac back. Vintage McGrady as Worrel calls him. He was absolutely destroying anyone who guarded him, especially Rudy Gay. He's getting like 2 dunks a game now, I definitely am impressed to see how. IF we combine this McGrady with Yao being better defensively and our supporting cast hitting their freakin shots, we'll be fine

this is not the best that tmac has ever played. he's playing like the best perimeter player right now. but he played like the best perimeter player in 04-05, during his magic days. where did that get him? nowhere.

yao needs to be able to combat the fronting defenses and get the ball and shoot, the others have to attack the openings that the stars give them if they can't shoot. DO SOMETHING. don't just stand and jack 3s.

Actually standing and jacking 3's would be fine if they are wide open in the flow of the offense... Oh and of course if they could make a few of them.

McGrady's hot shooting kept us in the game tonight. Without him we get blown out. He has been very good mostly in the first 8 games.

However, they did not make a genuine effort to feed Yao in the post, unlike the last few games. If Yao was fronted they'd reverse the ball and forget about him. Of course he was not doing himself any favors by playing horribly defensively, but we need to get back to feeding Yao. Tomorrow is a good day to do it because Phil has always had Kwame play behind Yao and take him 1v1.

but we're not making them. when u can't make them, PENETRATE and try to get easier shots or draw fouls (which is something francis would do fine, he might actually put up a few facials already).

the same reason we say tmac shouldn't keep shooting Js when he's off. DO SOMETHING.

"We scored 98, and that's OK for us," Yao said. "But when you let them score 105, we had problems on defense. I didn't guard Darko Milicic well in the post, and Pau Gasol got 17 free throws. Those are the keys right there."

Yao says it like it is. Defensive breakdown. It will happen just gotta look ahead and get ready for the next game. After all, we played fine on offense, other than the fact there WAS no offense except for McGrady and Yao.

i was watching tonight and i did notice how much quicker tmac looks opposed to last season. even when he went on his hot streak last year while yao was out he wasnt moving like he is right now, and that is a very good thing

It's as if the Rockets become clueless after a team takes away passing lanes to Yao, so they turn to T-Mac to bail them out. He almost did, too.

They need to learn how to react well to any defense, even gimmick defenses like those of Memphis and GS and Phoenix. It's early in the season, so I'm not going to pop any veins worrying about it yet.

Did anyone else hear the Bobcats commentators say: "T-Mac is a point-forward" late in the game? tmacyao2000 (is that his name?) must have thrown a rock at his TV screen after hearing that. :D

True that. Yao doesn't sugarcoat anything. I didn't think he did that bad of a job on Milicic. I just think Darko had a very good game.

I love what he is doing but honestly Yao should be getting the majority of the shots.

GIVE THE BALL TO YAO. THROW IT DOWN!!!

T mac's great. But Yao should get more shots. Right now, T mac gets above 10 shots even if he doesnt make a single field goal. Yao gets around 10 shots even if he hits almost all of them. I just hope our system could be more flexible. Let t mac shoot more when he's on, but give yao some touches too. I think Yao should average at least 17 shots a game, same for t mac, and depending on the night, whoever is on, give him more shots.

07 Tmac is much better than 06 Tmac. Like he said, his body is fresher. It's a great sign that his free throw attempts are up. However, he still needs to stop pulling up for those low percentage long bombs. Instead, look for Yao at the low post or throw him the lop-pass when he cuts to the basket.

After Kobe's 18 point night, I think McGrady is leading the league in scoring once again.
