The guy is really good, he plays a very smart game, probes the defense makes good passes. He doesn't look smooth doing it, but he is really helping Portland.....I wish the Rockets had him. DD
"Bleh! I am all you guys need for PG. Don't make me get my "I will be here next year, will you, Coach?" TShirt out of my closet."
During the off-season I posted that we should try and get this guy. Then, I got bashed for it. (wait, I think that was RealGM)
Wanted Blake bad last year when he was at Milwaukee. Figured Novak and some fodder would entice them. Assumed Milwaukee wanted Novak back home...
He's underrated but nothing that special. Having said that, I would start him over Rafer in a heartbeat.
Only teams with starting PG's the quality of Rafer have message boards with threads about Steve Blake.
Blake was OK tonight, but Jarrett Jack was nails in the clutch as the Blazers closed out the Pistons. After losing their first 3 (all on the road), the Blazers went 4-0 on the homestand, including wins over the Hornets, Mavericks and Pistons. Blake is OK as a reserve, but he ain't nothing special. One thing I like about him is he doesn't choke and get jittery in tight games.
He plays within himself and is a very good setup man for his teamates. He is not athletic at all, but his passing is very nice. DD
i wanted steve blake too. i wanted luke ridnour more though. oh well hopefully the rockets have a solution in the works.
if steve blake was your starting pg every night i venture you'd love him just as much as you currently love rafer.
This is depressing because it's true. With James shooting 35% and Francis becoming last year's Bonzi, we just might be the only contender happy to get someone like Steve Blake.
there was a stat that suppported him being the worse player. before he was on the bucks he was thought to be a good defender and when the bucks traded him to denver his defense magically became good again. it was just a case of a bad fit and mostly playing on a poo team.
It may have been here.... I remember several people referring to him as the worst player in the NBA. I never understood that.
Lol, this guy is back in the NBA as a member of the Hornets. I suppose Steve Blake is safe from that title then.
