yeah at any service center idk wats up with everyone elses service but my stuff hasn't gotten better since Time warner left I'm running at a constant 20 mbps per second! and my upload is about 2-3 megabytes per second btw i got rid of the time warner cable modem i used to have and now have a modem that says "comcast" and is made by scientific atlanta. i believe that is the newest one..
I exchanged the modem late this afternoon. Got home and it wouldn't let me connect. Called Comcast and got a tech guy within 5 minutes. After another 5 minutes he had me up and running again. Right now all seems fine. I'm not going through my router, just directly from the cable modem. Everything is Comcastic for the time being.
Since the switch I had constant problems connecting to the internet. I kept unplugging the power cable from the back of the modem and would sometimes get lucky and be able to connect. Unfortunately, after a few minutes it would revert back to the same problem and I was stuck without internet during the most crucial of times. After a few dead end calls to customer service wherein they recommended the same things over and over (i.e. disconnect the power cable for about a minute, reconnect it and then restart) I finally just traded in my Time Warner issued modem for a Comcast issued modem and have had no problems since. Upon connecting the new modem I was not successful in establishing connection so I had call Comcast and the rep had to fix something on their end until I was finally able to get on the internet. So basically: Go trade in your modem and call Comcast after connecting everything in its right place.
Does Comcast Sponsor the Rockets? Ok. I decided to bump this thread. There are way too many COMCAST SUCKS THREADS. I decided to bump this one because it feels most similar to mine. It feels like I am getting BS dialup speeds. I am going in tomorrow morning to exchange the modem or whatever. This **** pisses me off. I probably won't take a hammer to them, but I may or may not go Kambo Slice on their sorry asses. This **** annoys me. This modem is from like 2002 or something, so I think it's from the TWC days. You know your service sucks when you/I say that you actually miss Time Warner Cable's POS crap. I still don't have U-Verse in my area, and why can't we get CableVision, COX, or Time Warner or who ever else in the Houston Market or any other market?
This was the best line, but the whole rant was great! I seriously laughed out loud. My stomach hurts.
Anyone live in the sugar land area and noticed that the internet [comcast] has been going down a lot lately. specifically in the evening time? [thats the only time im on hte internet at home]
Is that the same modem you had with Time Warner? It did make a big difference with me when I exchanged it. I get pretty good speeds now, but still not what I expected.
yup. i got it this morning, and i put it together tonight. i wish i could do it by myself, but i had to call them to do what they had to do on their end. sounded like the dude on the line just didn't give a ****. (soooo not shocked) atleast the speeds are going faster than normal. pr0n and more pr0n, and more stock options, here i come.
I'm on Comcast in West Houston with a modem I got from them over a year ago. I test at 6600 download and 1400 upload. But I'm pretty sure my neighborhood is on fiber optic cable.
I love comcast. I've had cable/internet since Day one in my apartment. (6 mos ago) I've called multiple times to upgrade the cable but no response which sucks but I cant argue free cable/internet
I just bought a Motorola Surfboard modem today. Can you send me a link via email through the board how to modify this beyatch? I want speed!!!
Ah, but he'd have to start his own blog to get their attention, though. Faosblog.com? Otherwise the wait might be awhile...
