No 5 that stand out, but I like: Friends Becker Saturday Night Live The Practice The Daily Show Seinfeld Reruns Everybody loves Raymond The Drew Carey Show
5. SNL 4. My Wife and Kids 3. Whose line is it anyway? 2. Sportscenter And, my friends, tied for the #1 show on television in the United States of America, Mad TV Absolutely painfully hilarious. Especially last week. They had spoofs of a Destiny's Child video in which Beyonce states the obvious truth that she doesn't need the other two. a Michael Jordan scene in which reporters are constantly questioning him in every aspect of life, like he drops his car keys and reporters rush up to him going "Michael, Michael...you used to open your car with such ease. Do you think your age has anything to do with it?" Dubya and Triple H go to Afghanistan to beat down Osama & friends DAMN FUNNY. and then also CSI If you haven't seen this show...WATCH IT!!!!! It is an amazingly well-written show with a variety of twists and turns. Great cast and characters, too. They've got a fallible CSI head guy, an ex-stripper sidekick, a black smart scientist (on TV, imagine that! ), a tomboyish girl scientist, a weirdo young DNA researcher, a coroner who dances to music as he works, and an array of interesting guest stars. An A+++ in my book.
1. Rox games 1. Simpsons 2. Malcolm in the Middle 3. Futurama 3. SNL 4. Sopranos - Haven't missed an episode. 4. Married With Children ReRuns 4. Quantum Leap ReRuns 5. NewsRadio 5. Friends (New/ReRuns) 5. Seinfeld ReRuns 5. Oz 5. Fear Factor 5. Anything on the History Channel ( WWII )
1. 24-- Best show I've seen in a long while... very surprised that few have mentioned it. If you haven't watched it yet, you really need to see. (Big Gap) 2. Boston Public 3. Law & Order 4. Law & Order SVU 5. Seinfeld reruns
Simpsons (I seem to watch the daily reruns more that the new ones) Friends(ditto as above) WWF (Raw and Smackdown) South Park(starting to watch it now because just last year my cable JUST GOT Comedy Central on their line up, its what i get for living in east Houston) Newsradio/Married with Children reruns (those have to be 2 of the funniest shows that should have NEVER been canceled) Was a hardcore watcher of Dawson's Creek, but it just got stupid. That 70's Show is good to watch but I work on Tues nights. Same goes for Smaillville, just seen the pilot episode cuz I downloaded it. Good show, but need to change my schedule at work to watch it . Has anybody seen Off Centre on the WB on Sundays? Has to be one of the better NEW shows I have seen in awhile. Has great dialogue/story lines from the creators of American Pie. Plus having the MILF chinese guy is hilarious.
seinfeld is easily the greatest thing on TV still..but it's not "current!" so.... 1. Ed -- the only show i'm truly disappointed if i miss 2. Friends 3. The Practice -- i hate traditional lawyer shows, but this series actually has some really compelling stories 4. SNL -- but i feel really old when i don't know who the hell the host is! 5. Everybody Loves Raymond Ren -- is your TV broken?? do you recognize there are other channels than WB and Fox??
I still love that show! It is hard to watch on SciFi. Tomorrow (12/13) they are gonna have 5 episodes on. 10am-3pm 4pm-5pm 11pm-12am Usually only on twice a day from 4pm-5pm and 11pm-12am. I really hate the way NBC screwed Quantum Leap by bouncing it around all the time in the worst time slots. Didn't they stick it to Newsradio like that too after Phil passed?
I thought I was going to get through this whole thread without anyone mentioning 24. Good call Major. BTW, is anyone taping this show? I missed the last one and I think the first one. If any of you fellow Austin BBSer's have these, please email me.
OK, I may be adding another one as well. I just finished watching the first episode of Six Feet Under...what a great show. My Wednesday nights are now filled to the brim for the next 12 weeks with Ed, The West Wing, Six Feet Under, and South Park. Another show I forgot was The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. I haven't watched it in awhile though.
it's about time you saw SFU! Alan Ball is a writing genius. Season 2 starts in March. Hopefully it is longer than the 13 episodes of the first.
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer - I am recording every episode in order as they are being played on FX, but they skipped Hush and Buffy vs. Dracula. Bastitches. The comedy, the action, the character development, the skimpy leather outfits. Any of Spike, Xander, Anya, Buffy, or Willow alone is enough to make a successful show. And the villans, what can defeat the evil trio. I can't belive we get all of them. Now if only they could bring back Faith. (Marry me Eliza Dushku!) This show has everything you could possibly want from a television show. If you are not watching it yet, get a clue. 2. Dennis Miller Live - He is one of the funniest comedians in the world, and is perfect for a talk show format. His rants are great and current. He usually has good guests. "The News", formerly called Weekend Update, is one of the best bits on television. 3. Inside the NBA - Charles Barkley given a platform to rail against all that is wrong with an NBA without him in it, easily the best sports show running. Plus 2 Rockets. 4. Six Feet Under - A comedy as dark as they come. I pity those that do not get HBO and thus cannot watch this show as well as 2 and 5 on this list. 5. The Sopranos - Until this show stops running, any other drama winning an emmy (excepting Buffy, but they can barley pull out 1 nomination) is a load of crap and an affront to the world of cable television and its Mecca, HBO.
No particular order... Friends Law & Order Frazier And um... that's all I watch semi-regularly. I sometimes flip to the nature, discovery, history, or move channel to see what's on.
I don't watch much TV anymore like I used to, but here is what I like to watch when I have the time: 1) The Simpsons 2) Seinfeld 3) Any sports related thing that deals with football, basketball, or baseball (most ESPN shows) 4) Smurfs (first on Boomerang and now on Cartoon Network) 5) VH-1 Classic Channel (channel that plays '80's Music videos all day long)
I watched one episode of CSI and while is an entertaining show, the dialogue is pretty darn lame. It's far from "amazingly well-written." I found myself groaning more than once at some of the hokey lines.
