I think I always did HITT before there was a name for it. Always got more endorphin rush w/ it and felt better afterwards.

Whatever you can do to keep knee swelling down is desired. Repeated swelling over years can lead to arthritis in your joint.

HIIT is actually used by the rockets when they need to get in shape.

I'll throw my .02 cents in. If your trying to gain muscle point blank you have to eat. I eat minimum 6 meals a day. Try to aim for lean proteins like tuna, chicken, lean beef, & fish. Eggs are also great since they are cheap. If you weigh 195 you should at be taking in at least 195 grams of protein a day (1gram X body weight). Protein shakes will help you get to your daily goal if you don't have time to eat whole foods. Now you could just eat whatever you want but you will end up gaining more fat than if you eat fairly clean and healthy. When I started focusing on my diet I started to see more results. Muscle Milk is good but I would go with ON Whey.

I have a tuna sandwich at least once a day. I'm not worried about my diet as much because I'm already on a decent-good one, but that doesn't mean I'm not looking to improve it with this new routine. I plan on getting the ON Whey when I'm back in Houston for Thanksgiving break.

As for my workout today, I played 3 games of basketball as a warm-up and then hit the weights for about 50 minutes. I pretty much made a write-up of what things and how many reps I'm going to do for the next month, making sure not to be too repetitive.

I saved the HIIT for second to last, before doing abs. Let me just say, although it was the first day, I can already tell this is going to be a major factor like yall said. I went for 6 minutes on the elliptical and when I was finished, I felt energetic (which is good because I had abs left). I'm planning on going for 6 minutes on Wednesday on the treadmill and hopefully up it to 7 minutes on Friday.

I would really like to try HIIT myself but I have been hesitant to do so because I have not seen anything for amateurs starting out on this type of regiment. I have heard it is great to burn fat and quickly. The only problem is I don't have any equipment or access to the equipment mentioned above, is there anyway I could do it on a track or course? Any info would be great.

what's your stats? height, weight, how active?

if you're overweight, you can start off doing ten seconds of alternating intensity. jog ten secs, sprint ten secs, jog ten secs, sprint ten secs, etc. i think doing this for just 3 minutes a day will really get your heart pumping and burning fat. then gradually increase the time. 3 minutes doesn't sound like much, but that's a long time when you don't run at all.

My personal trainer at 24 fitness. I got measured yesterday. I didn't lose any weight though but gained some muscles, just shaved off inches. My goal is not to lose weight, just to get toned up.

Do you think having a tuna sandwich once per day means that you have a good diet? Is is on white bread? If so, that is a garbage meal. Are you also using mayonaise? If so, that is basically a meal full of simple carbs and fats, with a bit of quality protein.

A good meal would be eating 6 times per day, each meal consisting of these 3 macro nutrients: Lean Protein, Healthy Fats, Complex Carbs. In that order. The ultimate meal would be something like this:

    5oz lean chicken breast
    1/2 cup of brown rice
Mixed salad with olive oil for dressing
    2-3 fish oil caps

If you want real results, do that six times per day for a few weeks, work out, and then get back to us. Diet is #1.

No. I'm saying it's part of my diet. I don't use mayonaise, and I use wheat bread. Now that I'm in college, I simply don't have as much time to eat 6 meals, nor do I have the resources to be making chicken or rice. For dinner, if I catch it (dining hours), I'll have chicken and a salad w/o the dressing. I don't drink cokes with the exception of a diet one here and there and I don't eat fast food. Trust me, I know what to eat and what not to eat. I wouldn't have lost 30 pounds if I didn't.

Cool. You can bake chicken breasts and put them in the fridge and they will be good for up to 5 days, you can also get the uncle ben's brown rice in the microwave bags, done in 90 seconds.
