boston defintely deserves the #1 spot right now. they are playing great. honestly i think they would give us a lot of trouble.

I think we will match them up well.

They have no killer PG to take adv of us, they have no big man downlow to defend Yao. They will probably have to shoot jumpers all night long.

The only reason they are number one is that they are the only team unbeaten so far. A big reason for that is their weak schedule. Wizards, Raptors, Nuggets, Hawks & Nets? I mean c'mon. Those aren't exactly cream of the crop. Wait till they play the legit teams (like the rockets  ).

The rockets on the other hand had IMHO the toughest schedule to start the season. Still adjusting to the new offense and yet they are at 6-1. Not too shabby.

Dude, last year KG was shutting down Yao and TMac at the same time.

I wouldn't say that. Tmac and yao just had a bad game.

KG did a good job double-teaming Yao last year. But lets see what happens when we don't run the same predictable post-ups to Yao like we did last year.

Garnett definitely had A LOT to do with both of them having a bad game.

I sorta Agree on this. I mean It doesn't seem like we got our defense on check; enough to say were the best right now.

I agree with the thought that they are #1 only because they are unbeaten. But who have they played? We'd most likely be undefeated if we played that beast of a schedule.

The only team that Boston beat that I think is worthy is Denver. Even still I watched that game and Denver player ridiculously poorly. Look at its record so far. That said, I don't think Boston can compete with the Western 5, but may be able to overcome Detroit. Seriously though, Boston does not really have much eastern competition so it might wind up with a really high win percentage.

I also do not know why people consider its win over New Jersey to be such a big deal.

boston only played those eastern conference teams and not even some of the best contender eastern conference team yet. Plus the big 3 played more mins than the starters of the teams that they beat
