part of the Rockets problems can be attributed to this hard-nosed agent. and the effects will only manifest over time..Olajuwon should have retired a rocket, Moochie should not have gotten anywhere near that kind of money and on top of it all, he cohersed us into trading for Glen Rice. Out of these 3 things, the Moochie thing bothers me the most..Moochie is an above average backup..an above average backup does not get that kind of money, plain and simple. Damon Jones would have been just as effective (if not more) and today Charlie Bell was released by the Suns which is going to make one heck of a pickup for some lucky team. Not to mention, Thierry Brown, in mu opinion, is outplaying Moochie. Fegan is probably loving life in his mansion in Beverlly Hills right now while the Rockets enjoy the basement of the Midwest Division!
Dave, your argument isn't even valid. Nobody forced the Rockets to do anything. Did Fegan force CD to sign on the dotted line? I don't think so. Get a life.
TedRuxpin hit it on the head. Fegan's job is to represent his players to the best of his ability and get as much money as possible for his clients. Rockets management made the very poor decisions to sign those players to overpriced contracts.
Fegan promises his players contracts that aren't realistic. Then when the player isn't offered a contract that's even close to what Fegan has led the player to believe they are worth Fegan blames the team. He did this to the Jazz with Shandon Anderson. The Jazz offered Shandon a 5 year 25 million dollar contract. Fegan convinced Anderson he was worth more, and no one offered it to him. He signed in Houston for 3 years 6 million. Do you think he was worth 6-8 million a year? Fegan convinced him he was. I believe the Rockets made a fair contract offer to Hakeem, but Fegan convinced Hakeem he was worth more. I don't know enough about the situation to say for sure, but didn't he end up with about the same amount of money that the Rockets were offering? There are lots of agents out there trying to get the best contract for their client, but Fegan goes about it in the wrong way. He burns bridges.
I think Tierre Brown is playing well considering no one thought he would make it that far. He penetrates well and he will learn how to finish. Moochie dribbles, dribbles, and dribbles himself into trouble this year. Not sure why he's changed his attitude toward the game. Moochie's contract is way too big!
