Disagree about the streamers. I think they're great. As for the football lines, welcome to MLS. Gridiron lines aren't a big deal, and I think soccer fans sound silly when they complain about 'em. As for watching TV games... buy a ticket! It's about 20x as much fun. But get there early.
I think Houston and New England are the only teams with football hashes. It's better than DC, because they have a dirt field. UH is a great place to watch football and soccer. other than the ramps being freaking steep, people standing in the middle of the walkways, the food sucking, and benches it rocks. the atmosphere is awesome. i dont mind all that. the only thing that sucks is that the touchline is too close to the stands, and you cant see over people.
KC (Arrowhead), New York (Giants Stadium), Salt Lake (Rice Eckles) also have football lines. Dallas has them some also since Frisco ISD helped pay for the stadium and has high school football games there, but it's not that often and they do a decent job of fading them out most of the time. The Nationals moved out of RFK so they shouldn't have the infield anymore in DC. When Houston finally gets a stadium they'll probably have football lines at some point for the extra income. It's mainly a question of how often and how bad they look. And artificial surfaces bother me a lot more than football lines. Watching games at places with the old turf, like Salt Lake and New York, is painful. When DeRo scored the second goal I couldn't even see, I only knew it went in from everybody's reaction.
yeah, i forgot about kc and new york and salt lake. but new york and salt lake are getting new stadiums. i do recall seeing a game with dallas, and seeing football hashes. i am aware that frisco shares with the local school district, but it's not too bad. playing on that old astroturf looked r****ded. i can just imagine someones knee. what's the name of the eagles player that basically ended his career because of the Vet's turf?

As for watching tv games, I live in Austin. That's all I got. I've been to a few games and that sideline is still tough to see in person. I had to play on football fields my entire high school and college career. You get used to it, but it still sucks. No matter how much you play on them, when you look down and see a sideline, you react. Why are the streamers great? I remember seeing on of the Dynamo backs have streamers all over his legs while trying to stay with a defender. I don't want to see Onstead's box covered in them when he's trying to make saves. I just don't understand the excitement in throwing crap on the field.
I dont have access to start a new thread so I will post it here. Maybe someone can start a new one. "Live presser at 1 p.m. CT November 13, 2007 - Lone Star Sports and Entertainment will hold a live press conference today at 1 p.m. CT at Reliant Stadium, where they will make a major soccer announcement." You can watch the live press conference on Texans website. Its streaming but no one is talking yet. They just said they are about to start
It's to announce US vs. Mexico @ Reliant in February. I was hoping to announce that the Dynamo were getting a new place, but this is great as well. The last time was fantastic.
