Well, its getting close to winter time.........and since i live in the country, im worried about these pests. Has anyone here ever tried the Electronic Sensors that you plug in? They are supposed to ward off any rodent or critter while being safe for dogs and pets. Its the only suggestion I can come up with because laying out traps is not gonna solve the problem......just delay it. I live out in the country.....surrounded my ranches and farm land and when it gets cold...........I can hear mice in my attic.

The best I can tell, they're useless. But maybe there's a variation in quality between brands or something.

I've been having some mice problems and the traps aren't doing squat. The best rodent remover and deterrent I've seen is a cat. I've previously borrowed friend's cats for a week but I'm planning on getting one of my own this week.

After reading swilkins thread I would not recommend getting a cat to get rid of opposums.

You could burn your house down, but some might consider that extreme.

we used to use glue traps when we had a rat problem years ago.

i thought it was cool to wake up the next morning and finding a squeling rat struggling to escape while i knew it was doomed it's fate.

seriously, if you call an exterminator, they will throw bars of "poison" around your house. it doesn't kill the rodents, it just dehydrates them so they have to find a water source somewhere. just make sure it's dry around your house. this was very effective for about 6 months.

You need an expert to come and identify and close the access points to the attic; it's much harder than you'd think since the varmants squeeze through anything they can get their head through.

Then, as sad as the traps are, they are the way to go. W/ poison, they'll consume it and then can die in your walls. Not not good.

does anyone know if those Pest OFFense systems work? They are supposed to mess with the nervous system of mice and any other rodent so that they dont want to be near it.
