Thanks Mate. It going to look amazing. Ill change it when we lose. Im pretty superstitious about these sort of things. AHAH.
Im downloading the video at the moment. Ive enjoyed watching all the clips uve made Pongd, theyre sweet as candy And on second note, trying to shoot like tmac is pretty hard, let alone shoot like anyone in the nba.
Nice video. Love the Jay-Z track. Here's another one of T-Mac doing some weight training, he's pretty strong for a skinny guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAbQaYlsmrg
I know it's his signature move, but I think you put it in the highlight mix too many times, and too many jumpers overall.... after about 10 of them I got the point that he can create space for and make his jumper many different ways. He has had many spectacular dunks and layups, I think they belong in any highlight clip of McGrady.
I agree. While I certainly respect the choice to make a unique video (as I try to do with mine), I think there's a fine line between innovating and alienating. This video is going to miss the mark with some people when they don't see any eye-popping dunks after about 90 seconds. I know because I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the work I've seen from pongD, but I actually skipped forward in this video because I felt it was dragging a little. It might have been more entertaining if it were done in parts. First the jumper for about a minute, then his assists for a minute, and finish with a minute or two of his layups/dunks. Sort of like someone did with a series of Yao videos a couple of years ago. Just some constructive criticisms. I really admire pongD as a mix maker, and that's why I can confidently say that he could have made this better.
clutchcity, i respect you too. youre part of the reason why i started making mixes.i understand where you guys are comin from so let me explain...i just dont get tired of his perimeter game. i get that there needs to be some dunks or more "exciting" plays but i put most of them in my rockets mixes. and when i make mixes i make them for myself to watch. so i dont need to see them again. i felt my rockets mixes went too fast for people to really appreciate the plays...so i saved all his jumpers for a slower mix. his footwork and jumper is my favorite part of his game. i showcased his passing and dunking in the rockets mixes on more aggresive themes. his game is... "silky smooth"... so i thought it matched well with the mellow music and the soft commentary in the background. besides, theres been so many rockets and tmac mixes after 06-07 we've all seen the same plays over and over. after this and maybe a tmac assist mix i might make, i can delete all my clips from his first three years with us and keep my mixes as memories. this year is a new beginning. i appreciate the feedback guys...thanks and big thanks to r2k for the unbelievable amount of rockets footage over the years. and also batkins182, bringing the highest quality rockets footage around.
You guys are insane, the flow of the song went perfectly with the jumpers, I know dunks are good and all but Tmacs skill game is a thing of beauty, no one hits that spin move with the same kind of consistency, showing him doing it against so many different defenders was fun for me.
thanks chronz. appreciate it. btw guys since i still cant start new threads i thought id just post this here. i made a re-enactment of shane battiers game winning three in the season opener in nba 2k8. check it out <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/1da9jzL3LC4&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/1da9jzL3LC4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
LMAO! That's great, it's even better than the original post. I think this thread alone should get you bumped up to a "member" so you can start threads. Can we lobby Clutch on that?
lol thanks. it took me quite a few tries to get it the way i wanted it. it was annoying tryin get yao to give the right pick and have battier spotted up at the same time. i also have some other re-enactments of other nba players on my youtube channel if anyone wants to check them out.
pongd, this is awesome! You and CCR make the most amazing mixes...really really impressive. BTW I believe you created the 'Rocketeer' video. Do you have a high quality version of that you could upload? That is my favorite T-Mac mix to date, and I'd love to get a high-quality copy. TIA!
Well that must mean you can play in the nba........wait.....you're not.....you're sitting here typing your life away on a message board and bragging that you can jump higher than a premier nba athlete.......hmmm.... I bet Yao has a higher vertical jump than you.....and he's 7-6!
Pongd--i for one appreciate a mix that's just jumpers. Some people don't realize the subtle techniques that enable guys like T-mac to be a dominant scorer. To me, his body control and ability to make a move, fool a defender, spin, go straight up, and fire a jumper is far more impressive then a litany of dunks. Sure dunks are fun, and exciting, but if i wanted dunks, i could watch a stromile swift mix. Thanks for letting us appreciate some of the moves that actually elevate t-mac from superior athlete to superior basketball player.
