the best is when your at a bar and you see some dude trying to pickup a chick by asking her if she has a account on facebook or myspace, instead of getting her number.
That happened to me. A girl asked me if I had facebook before asking for my number. A couple days later I did the same thing to different girl. Pretty nerdy I know
Yep, some weeks ago, I asked this girl for her email so I can talk with her on the MSN messenger, but I didnt ask for her phone number, I was so dumb!! Well, later on the MSN messenger I asked her phone.
I liked Facebook better when it was for the college educated only. Regardless, it's still worlds better than trashy Myspace. The funniest are the dudes on Myspace with the shirtless pictures or pictures of their cheap "pimped out" cars. 99% of the time those two things are their crowning achievements in life.
I use it so old friends I've lost contact with can find me again. I have a myspace for the same reason. I think I posted a picture once and wrote on "the wall", but generally never use it or look at it. It's sort of like a flag to find me when you don't know where I am. I don't understand how people spend so much time on it. Of course, I think the same of CF. I'm streaky. I read alot on the internet, but don't post much, either on BBS or even email. I think I am just not into computer communication much. According to my wife, I'm not really into communication at all...
I use Facebook for everything. I even managed to rake in a few bucks using the marketplace. The only advantage to Myspace is that you can customize your page to your likeness, of course this isn't always the case as 90% of people have way too much ****(mostly really unnecessary and unsightly) on their page that absolutely kills CPU usage. Then they wonder why their computer moves crappy whenever they visit myspace. Also met a few girls thru both of them.
What's the etiquette with this? Do you just request to be their friend / send them a message or a combination of both? Always been curious about how to meet some females on myspace particularly but don't want to come off as a creepy loser if you know what I mean.
here's the houston rockets application. Join it! http://apps.facebook.com/houstonrockets/invite.php?id=437307
I think trying to meet females on Myspace is lame at best, and on Facebook it's definitely against etiquette. One of the better things about Facebook is that it's much better at making sure that people's friend lists consist of people they actually know in real life.
also i'd like to say the trivia is hilarious. there's definitely some clutchfans members in there. Clyde's "nothing but net" quote is one of the questions. Some "v-span" questions are in there too. There are some tricky ones but those were wayyyy before my time.
Yes, thats why I'm on there. It changed but not like all the original people left. It still has the school effect in it big time, as compared to Myspace which was never school based. Can agree it can be lame. There is too much impersonal communication in place of real exchange between people nowadays with the messengers and chats and text messages, etc...The other day my sister tells my mom me and her keep in touch, when its been nothing but text messages almos the whole year..... this is FAMILY lol Still my thinking on the whole thing is...I'ma guy sometimes single sometimes not, so all things good and bad considered - If for whatever reason a hot lil thing happens to see me, then wants to go ahead and get on down with the get down without forcing it, i mean...i aint tryna save the world or anything or compete with anyone, must I need to prove a point and pass up that additional available option?
Just dont accept them. I ignore about 90% of the stuff that friends invite me to. Also, it's REALLY easy to delete them. It isnt like myspace where there is all this crappy code.
The cool thing about these applications is that anyone can design them. The people who make them get paid by how much revenue they bring in. Im enjoying the Poker App., it's pretty fun. The rest of them are lame and/or gay.
