Di: when I tie one on, I generally make sure to have a liter or two of Pedialite on hand. Chug as much as you can before bed. This is the stuff that they make so kids can stay hydrated when they're sick. Works like a champ. It also helps speed up the recovery process the next day. I lived on that stuff the last time I went to New Orleans.

Also, alka-seltzer really helps. It's disolved in water and THEN you drink it, so it hits your body that much faster.

    spicy food ---> endorphins (sp)
also maybe dialates blood vessels, where the alcohol and dehydration constrict them, leading to the headache, etc? That's amateur also.

back in the day, we used to just sit around and eat jalepenos, raw, to get the buzz of those blood chemical critters.

word. This was a topic in a GQ about a year ago. They had some people say hydration is key and so are sugars that can clump up the alcohol (only they said that more intelligently).

Basically juices are good, but they can be very high in acidity and give you a stomach ache, so Gatorade is a very solid option.

    So my advice:

down a gatorade and advil before you fall asleep (try and drink water here and there through the night) and when you wake up, after sleeping late, the faster you ****, shower, eat and put on nice clothes, the faster it all goes away.

But if you sit around all day in pj's and sweats, the hangover lasts forever.

for starters, don't drink too much :D

another important rule is "you got to eat to drink". Make sure you start the night with a good meal.

It also helps to drink water throughout the night. 1 glass of water for every 1 or 2 alcoholic drinks really helps. It's worth the extra bathroom visits, then again guys dont have to worry about sitting on nasty bar toilet.

Get some food and water/gatorade/whatever before you go to bed.

as for the morning after? I'm not really sure. something simple to eat (like a bagel) and some coffee help with me. And just more sleep.

i'd stay away from tylenos and such.

    It's been a while since i had a hangover...was there tequilla involved? :D

It's been a while, but agree w/ water before bed. Pedialyte makes sense since the drinks and water both flush electrolytes from your system. Never tried advil; always used aspirin w/ the water.

We almost always had spicy food by mid-day Sunday so agree w/ that. Might help your stomach the next day with a ginger capsule when you eat.

A whole beer? Don't go crazy!

As the resident kid on here who typically drinks roughly 50 in a weekend, I can tell you that you ride the white lightning until it lets you go. Then take a Lunesta and deal.

I did find it funny that we went to Cafe Adobe yesterday, and I paused after 4 margaritas because I had a game to watch. My boy had 7 and he happily passed the F out during.

A couple pints of water and a multi vitamin before bed seem to help some. It's been pretty effective for the 5-10 drink category.

Also, avoid beer brewed with corn or rice. (most, if not all, American "premium" beers.

I happen to be a pro at drinking (my names on the wall at the flying saucer to prove it)... Simple avoid dark liqour.... an well beer... drink vodka, everclear... I love beer so im bad at that part... WATER WATER WATER...... and a good rule of thumb if at the end of the nite and your starting to feel bad... make yourself puke... its always more pleasant to puke when your drunk then when your not... as for the morning after.. Water Tyenol and Food (bready stuff) make your self eat.. your not gonna wanna eat but you have to and i mean a decent meal with something heavy in it eat it till u make your self sick.

I drink a spicy V-8 juice. When you are down, it will build you back up.

I haven't felt bad from a night of killing myself in a LONG time. As drunk as I was someone conviced me to eat a McRib last night. I still feel like crap. Someone remedy the McRib hangover and you are legit...
