Just what I expected. We dominated on offense and gave up some yards on D late in the game. Colt is slowly becoming the Tony Romo of college football. I think he picked up some moves from his greatness... VY. I really like Crabtree. I'll have you know I will start a thread when we play A&M. Not cause their worthy but because I'd like to get some parting shots in at Francakes.
DD, how long has it been since you watched a UT game? On the strength of the last 2 weeks, we surged up to 23rd in rushing. We had 307 rush yds last week (7.3/carry), 364 the week before (7.6/carry). The last 2 weeks would have put us on pace for the #1 rushing offense in the nation. (And fwiw we were a little off just a little today at 285 since Charles got hurt)
Fatty FatBastard here: Texas Refs totally LOST us a TD TWICE on one posession, but, otherwise, I still have no idea why Tech has their panties wadded towards UT. And Crabtree is a phenom. The boy is only a freshman right now.
Very nice win for UT. Never let up on offense and did just enough on defense to hold TT off. If Charles didn't have to go off hurt, he could have gone for well over 200 yards. He was absolutely killing their d. Week off and then revenge time at the aggies.
Don't go blaming the Zebras. The guys upstairs with the TV's and multiple angles have the final say on every play. And Crabtree is a Redshirt freshman. Meaning he can bolt next year if he wants.
Good to finally see an efficient offense in the first half of a game. We gave up a lot of points and yards but that's okay for the most part. We also had a HUGE recruit (#1 rated RB) watching todays game so hopefully he got a good taste of what this offense can be the next couple seasons.
Texas Tech is stupid. Real crap school -- I hate Tech. That said, the Air Raid offense failed when it was called Run and Shoot. They throw too much. Tech didn't sustain any long drives and kept the Texas defense fresh. Texas, on the other hand, tired out the Tech defense (playing defense is more tiring than playing offense) and basically scored at will in the end.
Good for Leach sticking up for his players. I thought the refs were pretty poor I saw tons of holding plays Texas got away with, but with all that said if you can't tackle you can't win. AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Tech coach Mike Leach ripped game officials Saturday, suggesting the crew favored Texas, after the Longhorns beat the Red Raiders 59-43. Without naming him, Leach noted that referee Randy Christal lives in Austin. "I think it's disturbing that Austin residents are involved in this. People work too hard, too long, there's too much money invested in these games to allow that," Leach said. "Am I condemning the crew? Hell yeah, I'm condemning the crew," Leach said. Big 12 official spokesman Bob Burda did not immediately respond to telephone messages seeking comment. Leach's rant will likely draw a fine from the league and possibly a suspension. Leach was upset officials disallowed two Tech touchdowns in the third quarter. The first was overruled when video replay clearly showed the receiver let the ball hit the ground. On the next play, a touchdown pass was negated by a holding penalty. Leach also wanted, but didn't get, a flag for roughing the quarterback. "Unless this can change, the Big 12 Conference needs to take a serious look at having out of conference officials officiate the Texas Tech-Texas games and perhaps other games where there is proven to be a bias by officiating," he said. "It's unfortunate and does the bowl picture enter into it? I don't know. Does the money enter into it? I don't know." Leach's rant lasted for several minutes. "It may be incompetence, bias, I don't know. Maybe it's something as simple as guys sitting over the water cooler at their office in Austin talking about how the great game they're going to see -- and then perhaps a preconceived notion develops as to how it's going to come out," he said. Asked if expects to be punished by the league for his remarks, Leach said, "I expect to be coaching. I don't know what will happen but I'm not standing for this."
Darrell Scott out of St Bonaventure (Ventura) California 6-1 210 runs a 4.4 forty. Would be an awesome recruit if the Horns could pick him up <a href="http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=21607850">RB Darrell Scott- Scout.com's #1 RB</a><br><embed src="http://lads.myspace.com/videos/vplayer.swf" flashvars="m=21607850&v=2&type=video" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="430" height="346"></embed><br><a href="http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.addToProfileConfirm&videoid=21607850&title=RB Darrell Scott- Scout.com's #1 RB">Add to My Profile</a> | <a href="http://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.home">More Videos</a> <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/z6VWuQp-4II&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/z6VWuQp-4II&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object> <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tOZw_e3Bv9M&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tOZw_e3Bv9M&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
lets see, tech puts up 480 yards and 43 points of offense. tech gives up 590 yards and 59 points of offense. tech's offense is the problem. yes, this makes sense. apparently scoring so quickly on our D actually allowed our D to remain fresh for the next asskicking they were going to receive. and tech's D sucked right from the beginning. if they were tired then, then they should consider some conditioning drills. as for leach b****ing, i have no idea why. the only iffy call to me was the shipley TD. if you say he dragged the foot (they did), it's a TD, if you say part of his foot mushed down into the ground out of bounds (which i actually think was the case), it's not a TD. either way, very close. and tech got away with plenty of holds, so lets not throw that out there. the replays on tech catches were all called correctly, and the clothesline tackle on kindle on that one tech TD was obviously a hold, not sure how anyone could argue that one.
I think he was just clarifying that when DaDakota said Texas has no rush, he was referring to the pass rush, not the rushing game.
When your "law firm" demands a thing of you, then you can talk. Unless this IS your job. Certainly seems to be...
Wow. Considering I posted that earlier, I'm impressed Leach noticed it also. What are your thoughts on the UCLA thing?
tony homo IS AN OVERRATED PIECE OF CRAP. NEVER, EVER compare Colt McCoy to homo. Ever. Don't compare that crappy oklahoma team to Texas. Go EAGLES!
