    It's a bet!

I'd say good luck but that would be hurting our Astros.

Don´t want to root against the kid...make it $20, say?

Winner also gets first choice of mineshaft.

I realistically think that Pence will be a steady guy who will hit around .300, with 20 to 25 HR year after year. Add in his speed, and you end up with a guy that would be difficult to replace.

I want that guy on my club. He isn't once in a lifetime, but not somebody you really want to trade away either.

If I even think about trading pence for a SP, i'm going after Johan in the trade market first.

OK. Yeah, as I said, now that the Astros have a leadoff hitter and are essentially going for the best overall hitter regardless of leadoff skills, I think I'd agree with that sentiment.

But wouldn't Castillo be able to bunt over our new speedy lead-off hitter better? (I haven't looked at any numbers, just going off memory)

    Bourn
    Castillo
    Berkman
    Lee
    Pence
    Wiggy
    Towles
    Everett

Seems like a very good NL lineup to me - balanced with speed and RBI guys.

Ideally, our new speedy leadoff hitter shouldn't need bunting over.

HUH? They better not. If they throw in Crawford maybe. But 1 to 1 this is a bad deal IMO. Pence only 1 to 1 for Santana, D-Train. Yes, if we give up Pence then we better get a Superstar in return. No exceptions and/or multiple trade baits to stock in our farm system. SOMETHING substantial. No more BS trades! Fat Timmy doesn't live here anymore!

    wha?

I loves me some Hunter Pence, but I would trade him for Kazmir so fast it makes your head spin. And at this point in their careers, Kazmir is a much better pitcher than Willis.

Pence 1 to 1 for Santana. LOL. Crawford as a throw in. LOL.

Peavy !?! Stop that talk, man. The thought of having him & Roy together is enough to make me drool. Hmmm ... Peavy (Homer Simpson voice). :p :D :p

Kazmir is THIS good? Sorry pardon my ignorance but, just don't know much about the guy.

Know about Santana, D-Train, Peavy but, I guess I'll look up this guys stats so I don't come across as a dumbass on this idea.

Just remember the last few years we've gotten ass raped on these so-called good trades or bad luck (injuries) or combination.

Anyway I'll look up his stats. For the record, really don't want to part with Hunter. I think he's got that "IT" factor and I feel we may rue the day we trade him should we decide to do so. Just my opinion ...

We wouldn't rue the day we traded Pence if we get a Cy Young-caliber pitcher for him.
